Unfortunately chaps, I had a major camera malfunction last night and not one photo was actually stored in my camera memory!
The scenario was to fly the HP Bomber on auto card movement to the end of the gaming mat and back whilst it was being attacked by Goering and Starick in their DV.II's. A couple of staunch escorting Se5a's contested the Central Powers duo.
The Central Powers Aces had 3 Ace cards each to try and level the playing field and even so we reckoned it was going to be a close game.
The result was that it was not a close game! Due to their incredible speed one Se5 flew right past Starick's plane and copped a fair pasting in doing so. By the time that Se5 turned around he was too late to help the bomber that was taking an absolutely pounding from the Goering machine. Though all Entente planes landed hits on the attackers it seemed that the bomber and escorts were doomed to failure. First to fall was the Se5 piloted by Wayne who received a boom card! He was flying closer to the bomber and tried valiantly to fend off Goering (piloted by Mark) but in vain. We then did a crew shuffle with me tasking over control of the bomber and Wayne the remaining Se5. Starick (Doug) and Wayne in that remaining Se5 battled it out as the Se raced to the rescue of the bomber. Alas, with Goering on the bombers tail and the bomber having a jammed rear gun the end came swiftly with yet another boom card followed with a 3 point damage card to send his total to 32 damage points!
Not a good game for the Entente. That bomber did not survive even one length of the playing mat! The bomber received two jams and a fire card that both limited offensive effectiveness and contributed to his demise. One Se5 piloted by me was out of position and did little to defend except to himself against the attentions of Starick. The other Se5 fell quickly to Goering in his white bird of death!
Well done to Mark for achieving the two kills. Well done to Doug to minimizing the impact of one of the defenders too. Those Ace skill cards worked well and were used to maximum effect.
