Thanks all that attended for our fifth year at Beachhead - another successful outing for the Aerodrome team and we netted a creditable 3rd place for participation against some wonderfully created games involving massed 40K Titans and a scratch built dungeon.
Yet to catch up with the organisers but it seems that all went well despite being let down at the last minute by a well known war game provider. Shame on them.
So thanks to Chris (Boney10) & Si (Maverick) for Sails; Andy T (Sauerkraut), Tim (Flying Helmut), Steve (Guntruck), Rob (Rabscallion) & my best mate Andy (Ajay) who has probably made his last appearance at Beachhead as he'll soon move to Welsh Wales - you will be missed old chap.

I will post some pics soon.

PS. If you like what you see please favour the above chaps with some well deserved REP.

The match is called a short time later - Tim had fancied his chances of a third kill but when the cards were revealed he was happy he hadn't tangled with Steve after all as he had plenty of health to spare compared to Tim's few remaining points.
    An honourable tie

After introducing Glen, a young man from the X-Wing community at Entoyment, to the recon scenario Rob helped this young fella (7) and his dad take on Tim flying the RE8.

Having boomed dad early on Tim entertained the youngster until his demise - though fire caused by Tim's last burst would have done him in before he could get home the young man was very pleased with his effort.

Glen, meantime, had moved onto the dogfight scenario, taking the opportunity to try out the N.17 & enjoyed a game with us in spite of finally biting the dust !

I then flew the RE8 against Adrian, another Entoyment local, with Tim as his wingman - I gave them a proper run around but deciding to slow up and get in a cheeky shot cost me dear when Tim, who had caught up with me, cleared his gun and downed me.

A finale dogfight match up with Hobz (Yellow Peril) took place toward the end of the afternoon. A simpler 'have at it' charge across the table rather than the bounce scenario.

After the first pass and exchange I managed to get behind Tim's Alb (Wolff) with my silver N.17...

I was lucky that we overlapped when he immelled !
To the right Ajay's burning N.17 is pursued by Andy's black tailed Alb (Schafer). Hobz, ahead of me, is jammed too.

A few exchanges later - after Ajay had fallen me & Hobbs are up against it - I'd picked up a wound from Andy but he'd jammed his guns.

Close encounters - I'm jammed again following an exchange with Rob, Tim gets a shot out of the overlap into Hobz,Andy heads back with guns cleared...

Which he puts to good use !

Hobz, all alone, turns the wrong way - Tim pounces and suddenly it's all over ! A clean sweep for the Hun's and Tim claims #5 on the day

Great looking event. Fun to see faces matched to some of the forum’s champions.

Introducing youngsters to the game - that’s top shelf.

My favorite bit was the picture of Tim returning from the Entoyment stand... with what looks like 6 new two seaters. His legendary, and often commented on, acquisition skills on full display!

    Well played by all.

    3 two-seaters for WGF, 3 Viper Mk,VIIs for BSG

The two-seaters are Teaticket's fault - thanks to him, I now have 3 potential Schlasta flights to repaint, and needed extra models.

The Viper Mk.VIIs are needed to flesh out flights of fighters from both 'Galactica' and 'Pegasus' for a scenario I am developing.

"Entoyment" is the best FLGS I have ever come across, and it is a pleasure to be able to support their business.

Forgot to say what an excellent day of gaming it was!
All the scraps were contested in a fierce-but-friendly fashion, and the banter was top notch as always.

Thanks to everyone for attending, and special thanks to Dave for organising our attendance........

Dave, I've been meaning to ask (but forgetting!) where did you get your explosion discs?
With their black outer edge, they'd be ideal for my "Battlestar Galactica" games.
