    Default Home 3D Printing

I've just taken delivery of a Photon 3D printer which us busy churning out MTBs at the moment. I was wondering whether anybody here is printing their own aircraft at home and whether there are any handy freebie .stl files that anyone could point out so that I could try printing some planes?

There was a Kickstarter for 3D printing of WW2 aircraft models at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ch/description

The project was funded so, if you contact the organizers they might be able to help you, David.

I've had a couple friends who tried printing biplanes, but most home printers require a lot support-structures for the upper wing, and those get mixed up with the real struts and it becomes unusable quickly. Monoplanes have better prospects, since only the undersides of the wings need support.

I'm also in the process of finalizing the stl files for my version of the Thunderchild for T&T. See this thread:

NIce models. I also came with the idea of 3D printing some WW1 aircrafts by myself. On MyMiniFactory I found a cool kit of a Nieuport 28. The authour provided both the filese and the instructions (it seems to take up to a month!). I'm going to launch a print test asap. If it is of your interest, I will share the final result with you.
