Very nice and well done, my rep guns are jammed, too many excellent projects! Good to see the Valom models finally getting some good press, I have a few boxes of them here somewhere . . .

From what I read the planes that were for the Dutch were diverted to the RAAF so I decaled these that way. I saw that it is 20th squadron RAAF (DU) but no DU for the squadron markings (yet).

Then I did one for the US that I saw in an AIRFile book I have. This was for operation TOURCH.

And finally 2 A20-G's for the Russians. When I read about the A20's it said the Russians had more then the US.

Again when I take photos I see things that have be touched up. The guns need a paint job.

I forgot to mention I received some decals from Kevin today so have 3 planes to do next week and an order from Dave (AIM). Might have to wait for next month for the new planes.

    Thanks, Bob and David.

I agree with Florian that you need to have 2 valom kits....1 to practice and 1 to do right. Only after I had these assembled did I realize I had reversed the cabane and under carriage struts. Aging eyes I suppose is an excuse but the actual under carriage ones looked way too flimsy. Next kit (I have 2 more = 4 planes) I will use the right cabane pieces but make the under carriage from wire.

Re: Raben’s Plane....the wing section around the cross is supposed to be lighter as it was red painted over original white. I wanted to replicate that but not too drastic - is this too subtle? Easy enough to lighten slightly.

I think you've got it spot on!

I'm not a fan of the all-too-correct-but-I-personally-don't-like-it old scheme see-through (particularly on JG.II fuselages!). Your understated "lighter" area is an exception I should make on my 'Raben'.

Generally I agree with you. In this case the Eduard painting reference looked cool so I went with it.

A very good way to prevent mid air collisions Dave. What happens when one gets shot down. Cutting the string could cause all sorts of upset!

I think Mrs Clipper is after something, you can see the 7 plane mobile near the ceiling and the smaller 5 plane one suspended from the chandelier just over the dining room table . . . feeling a little spoilt, what is she after . . .
