I know what you mean Daryl, but there is always hope that they will eventually produce some of the other more numerous types from the southern and eastern fronts.
My point was to emphasise the need to produce decks for aircraft they are never likely to model themselves, thus making money for comparatively minor outlay while not damaging their own market for miniatures.
Lest we forget
Yeah, John, it is a great idea to include that when talking to Ares... otherwise they may get nervous about negatively affecting their own model sales. (Putting aside the fact that probably 90% of their players are not into painting and decals for third-party models.)
In fact, I think they'd get some deck sales just for replacement purposes... the card that went missing at a convention, the one that fell victim to a spilled beer, etc.
Their biggest worry is probably up-front costs, inventory and distribution costs, etc. Which is why I would point them to a service like drivethrucards.com. I've gotten decks from them and the quality is top-notch, and all the inventory and distribution costs magically evaporate since it is print-on-demand.

Great thoughts on the additional decks. Additional money they could make with a small outlay of money to produce the decks.
Not often I add to these threads - however have had to dust off the paint brushes ahead of Neil & Simons 75th anniversary of D-Day Bolt Action extravaganza (in June obviously)
Only ever done 6mm and 15mm before and NEVER British, so bit of a culture shock (not to mention need for many new paints)
1st section completed

Nice looking BA figs, just remember the officers boots are brown. At least according to my notes.
Nice BA figs, Chris. I'm still struggling with assembly of mine.

Really liking your Bolt Action figures, Chris! Certainly worthy of table time along with Simon's and Neil's, to be sure You all have a lovely great project ahead of you - I wish you luck and I also wish you would stop making Bolt Action look so attractive to me! Your BA work also tends to draw my attention and make me want to get into the game, Ken... I must resist!!
All the best,
Matt
Yep, like the Bolt Action figs. Must get round to painting mine some time.

Really nice BA figures Chris. I have a load to paint myself, Germans and US. So far I have only done one German squad.
Love the French troops Ken... very nice, different as well
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Yes Ken that is something different. Very nice.
Still working on my April stuff. I have 8 more to decal so should have photos by this weekend.
Nice work, Ken. Who is the shapeways shop that did the BFG ships?
And what are the animals behind the Romanians ?

Jager,
The critters behind the weapons teams are Hyenas. I did about 7 or 8 for a fantasy army for the guy last month and while doing his Romanians he threw in a couple more to paint up. As for the BFG ships the maker on the Shapeways site is Tempest Shipyards. He is doing some of the BFG Armada computer game sculpts also, got a Chaos Light Cruiser due in the next few days. Almost impossable to get ships as they have been out of print over 15 years so 3D seems to be the way to go now. That or pay a fortune on E-bay for beat up leftovers.
@Ken and Chris: great painted miniatures! I like the French, too, as they are quite rare in wargaming. I have a squad of British Commandos and German Fallschirmjägers for playing Flying Lead laying around. Another project which is waiting to be finished ... erm continued
A few weeks ago I asked Kevin (MISCMINI) about a special request. Today he sent me an email that they are done so I ordered them. Finished a few others today so should have pics of them posted tomorrow. The others I will get done when I get the decals.
I picked up a few BFG off of a NOWS member back in January; if he brings the rest back in June (soory, going to miss NOWM again for NOWSCon, as I got asked to run a game), I'll see what he wants for the rest. They're not in the best of condition.
I thought they were hyenas; just didn't think the Romanians had any as pets

Jager,
Was a big BFG fan back in the day. Have over 5K in Imperial ships, 2 K in Chaos, 3K in Eldar, and over a K in Orks. Also a Marine Battle Barge, 2 strike Cruisers, and ordered 7 escorts last week. Not sure if I will ever get to play again but just enjoy collecting figs (Yeh, I know...a rare thing on this site). Right up there with reworking my Warmaster armies, touching up a couple K of 15mm Napoleonics, and have built up a pile of unassembled 28mm Nappys. What is next? Dragging out my 3rd ed 40K stuff and repainting my Squat army of 25 years ago?
Sigh next thing you know will be dragging Avalon Hill games down to the hobby store looking for players.
Must be getting old and going through my 3rd childhood (or still never growing up according to my wife)
And Tim, those E III's are outstanding.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Pfalz's...sigh...some day I will ID a plane correctally.
Good to see the bricks. For minute I thought you were going to do a WWI trench. Also finished decals on 3 planes today so just touch up work and then photos.
I see the helipad is coming along nicely
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Trench??...nah..it is a pool for WWII naval minis.
Maybe some sort of bunker since I don't see a door but then the window may be removed and become a way into this "Hobby Room".
It's probably a hanger with a camouflaged door.
When I saw the first two pics I thought Eileen had plans for the Notts flight !

Put a hot tub in there and you can still do the naval minis....
Does Eileen know its the new wargames room yet?

Dang, Rob; I might not recognize the place when I visit next.

I know: it's a recreation of the front of the gondola of a Type P Zeppelin.
Can't wait to see it completed with a mock up of the zeppelin gondola Daryl mentioned.
OK so I finished some of what I have for April. First up my Royal Thai AF (RTAF) Curtiss Hawk H75N's. The drawings I have seen show the Hawk's have the Thai flag as their insignia. When I saw that Kevin (MISCMINI) had a decal set for the RTAF I had to do some planes for that. Also they had a small war with France in late 1940 - early 41. When I read about the Thai/French war the RTAF was better equipped then the French. Also the Thai's had 3 different marking from before WWII until the end of the war. These planes are SHAPEWAYS and are a clear plastic (FUD) which was much smoother then the other SHAPEWAYS planes I have.
I have a new decal order that Kevin (MISCMINI) did for me so I have to add some more decals to these planes.
They look very nice!
So as I mentioned the Thai's had a war with French forces in Indochina. When France fell the Thai's saw the opportunity to take back land they felt was theirs so they attacked the French to get their land back. Since I did some Hawk's for the RTAF I had to do some planes for the French so here they are.
These are AIM MS 406's and my thoughts on the camo scheme and markings. The markings may be wrong but I couldn't find much on how the markings went.
Much closer than you may think Gunners. The original idea was for me to have the extension as my wargames room, and Eileen to have a new Kitchen. Then she offered the Dining room to me for wargames in exchange for the extension for a new dining room with the wall knocked out between it and the kitchen instead of a door there. As a sweetener I got all the solid oak doors and cupboards from the old kitchen for my games storage units with some conversion needed. I thought this a good deal.
Here is the work in progress.
Four top cupboards finished, and bottom units going in.
Just building the last plinth for that end lower cupboard.
Then the oak top to go on the run of all three.
Next I start on the Wargames table itself and its underside store units.
That will not be completed until the Kitchen is finished in June.
Rob.

Sounds like a great negotiation on your part Rob.
