This is so very true, although I will point out that I am among those who do not use Faceplant.

You might want to just make one inventory of everything, then see if any dealers want to buy the lot for resell in their stores.

A veritable cornucopia of 'all things plane' seems to have been upended at your feet, Dave! This is truly a magnificent collection that Hunter had amassed. Sobering, too, for those of us getting up in years who have been stockpiling those things we are interested in. Sending positive vibes your way as you wrestle with this collection and bring it to heel.

    All the best,
    Matt

Some very interesting decal sheets, there..................

The task just keeps getting bigger - I hope the Elves are giving Dave a hand!

Are those Ares or Nexus products, or self made? They look pretty interesting.
So how many books are in your personal library?

Just brought home the last 18 boxes/tubs of plastic models from the Hunter's hanger along with a few boxes of books and board games. That should be it. . . . now for some serious sorting . . . .

Dealers would probably not want to invest that much for this enormous collection that is worth thousands. I would suggest maybe a raffle at $100 per ticket with the winner paying the Fedex shipping costs.

Sqawk!! Cave of Wonders - Cave of Wonders! Sqawk!! This continues to be an amazing experience, David - I look forward to what you decide to do with it all. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

An amazing collection for sure. Very interested in what you decide on. This is a wake up call for all of us with similar collections our better half, or family will have no idea what to do with.

Indeed, it is a challenge. It does help to have interested kids and grands though postage overseas is steep . . .

I understand the desire to avoid Ebay but if we want this to grow and not become a dwindling group then we need to find ways to encourage people to play.
Some items may be best on here but some should be sold on Ebay but with a clear link to this site to increase traffic and number of players.
That would be a good memorial

Good point about the link to the Drome Mark.
I am now thinking of cataloguing my collection and writing a codicil to my will entailing bits of the bulk of it to various friends etc.

In one of the pictures it showed 5 Zeppelin Staakens, if you wanted to do all of those plus fighters, and then the Handley Pages with fighters, think of how much more room you would need!

Way back in the VERY early days there were threads where the gamers used 1/48" scale plastic models on posts in a field outdoors to play a mega game, others used gyms for indoor battles, yard sticks and huge movement cards to boot, like I said that was years ago . . .
