Two seater Trouble
Here we have a couple of flights of RAF thinking they are bouncing some unsuspecting German scouts. They quickly realize these are no scouts but two seaters, Halberstadt Cl.IIs.
12 pilots flew in this one, 3 Camels, 2 SE5as and a Dolphin vs 6 Halberstadts. Young Corbin flew the black striped Halberstadt.
1st turn the Halberstadts are not allowed to Immelmann.
1st turn begins with the British flights of three planes on each rear quarter of the Halberstadt flight.
Peter is flying his Hansa-Brandenburg W29 as a disguised Halberstadt CL.II.
Fires quickly spring up to the delight of the game master!
Fires and jammed guns…the fun begins.
An SE5a jams it’s guns and the Dolphin starts to smoke. The red striped Halberstadt’s rear gunner laughs.
The black striped Halberstadt turns to face a pair of Camels, one with jammed guns and the other on fire. Doesn’t seem fair.
The yellow Halberstadts are having their way with the british today.
The black striped Halberstadt rear guns jam but not till after downing a British scout.
What? A Halberstadt on fire? How did that happen?
A burning Dolphin finally downs a Halberstadt.
A nice shot of Peter’s W29
It was a bloody fight, with 4 from each side crashing to the earth. The yellow Halberstadts each had a kill and a shared kill. The were one point apart for the Kaiser's honors far ahead of the other 4 Germans. The British didn't have a good showing against the two seaters.
