Default Historical Aviation Film Unit - Kermie Cam on the Albatros D.II

Another couple of great HAFU videos with Kermit Weeks giving a brief on the Albatros D.II.

"I was in New Zealand on March 31, 2015, visiting Gene DeMarco and The Vintage Aviator Limited. . .and look what they let me fly . . . an Albatros D-II! This is powered by one of their scratch-built Mercedes engines, which they reverse engineered from three original ones I sent down to copy! It was such a beautiful day for flying, I decided to do a Kermie Cam of it for you all to enjoy. It's in two parts, so be sure to check them both out."

    You beat me to it!
I was just about to post this as well but I posted the Stuka video to the WW2 group first.

Also on YouTube is Kermit Week's Fokker DVII.

As you may or may not know many of these replicas are built in New Zealand by the Vintage Aviator Company which is backed by film director Peter Jackson. He is also behind Wingnut which makes superb detailed 1/32 WW1 aircraft kits.

Vintage Aviator also make brand new WW1 aero engines which they supply to other restoration projects which, I think, is where this DVII has come from.

I have subscribed to HAFU, but haven't had a chance yet to check for the latest uploads. Thanks for the heads-up, Carl.
