I read somewhere that photos included in forum discussions should not have a dimension greater than 800 pixels. How large can photos be that are included in our personal albums?

So how many books are in your personal library?
I believe that photos can be as large as you like (but they take much longer to upload!).
Trouble is, the site "shrinks" them to 700/800 pixels along the long edge for viewing by others, but the original picture still eats up a huge amount of data storage on the site.
Each level of Membership (Silver, Gold etc.) used to have an upload limit; so the fewer pixels in your images, the more of them you could upload.
IIRC, some members came very close to filling their pixel allocation, before the Membership levels (and allocations) were created.
Personally, I Resize all my photos using 'Paint' before upload, so none are more than 800 pixels in size.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
