With the mention of propellers, here's what the elves do. Take a length of 1/16" diameter styrene rod - as long as you want the prop to be. Slip the rod just under half way into the jaws of a small pair of plilars where there are no teeth. Clamp down on the rod, crushing it to just under 1/32" thick. Remove the rod and insert the un-crushed end into the pliars at 90 degrees from the crushed end, crush this end like the other end. Round the tips or taper the blades to suit with a nail file. unch a center hole and drill the hub for a prop shaft and there you have it!

Beats the HECK out of carving them from rectangular plastic stock like I did a couple of weeks ago for my friends who were missing propellers! Thanks for the great tip, David!

Thanks for the offer, David! Carving them wasn't THAT bad, really - I knew what I wanted to do and it worked just fine. Yours is a much more elegant way of handling the issue, and I will try it next time.

A few snow days lately meant that I could really work on some things. Just for practice, I made this Little jungle base. I did everything by hand and used paper for the vegetation.

Great work there on that base, Max! One of my least favorite modeling jobs - which is probably why I like painting busts...

Holy Moly, Rob! That is going to be quite the involved installation/target when you are done Good thing Ares is coming out with SM79s to flatten it for you

I look forward to seeing how both of these projects progress. Keep up the inspiring work!

First, the D.VIIs look great, as usual.
Second: are you using full wing decals for the lozenge scheme, and if so, from where?
I have a whole Jasta or 3 of D.VII repaints to do sometime.

My Jasta 12 and Jasta 15 lozenge planes are all 'Nexus' "Schafer" minis, which already have the lozenge camo in place, upper and lower wing.

Jasta 13 consists of 'Ares' "Stark" minis, with whole wing lozenge decals taken from the 'Valom' "Fokker D.VII" twin-pack kits.

I still have another 14 "Schafer" minis yet to use, and another 7 "Stark" minis (but only 2 more blue 'Valom' wing decals).
