Thread: Sopwith Camel and Spitfire flying in formation.

Default Sopwith Camel and Spitfire flying in formation.

I cannot remember whether anyone has posted this video before showing a Sopwith Camel and a Spitfire flying in formation. Quite a feat for the two pilots involved since the Camel would be flying flat out whilst the Spitfire would be near its stall speed.

Absolutely awesome......now who's gonna work out those rules?

    1. Camel turns tight right it goes down.
    2. Camel turns left it climbs.
    3. Resupply of castor oil...12 pints an hour...can't be right is it?

    Thumbs up

    Fantastic Clip David!
You can see the torque effect of the rotary when the engine is blipped on the ground. Rocks the whole aircraft.

The Spitfire Mk XVI is the aircraft flown out of the Temora Aviation Museum in NSW.

That reminded me of a photo I saw with a P-51/F-15 and F-22. I searched YOUTUBE but found this instead. I hope all enjoy as I did. For me it is an awesome video.
