Edit: Grumble.....grumble...grumble....looking for a new copy and E-bay has one but the Seller will not accept paypal...Not sure why. Mini Mart has ALL the expansions but not the core game......sigh...guess I can wait a bit longer. Hope my Black Powder Waterloo box finally gets here next week only been waiting 3 or 4 weeks for it.

Can't wait to see the finished product. I hope to get some pics up tomorrow of some planes I did and hope they meet your approval.

Decided to take the pictures and post them tonight. So here is the story
In early 1939 the Polish AF decided to upgrade from the PZL P11's to a more modern type. They placed and order with the British and French. Well they didn't get the planes before the German invasion but here is my What If they did get the planes.

    1st up Hurricanes MK I.

Then I did 2 Battles that they received. The Indian Head is from a MISCMINI set for the French H-75 but I thought why not a unit symbol for the bomber unit. The underwing numbers and U are also from the French decal set.

All the planes are AIM models and the decals are from MISCMINI. I hope all of these meet Andy's approval for my Polish AF in 1939.

Thank you my friend. I felt is was something I had to do for all the different things I do. Now I have Finns/Poles/Dutch and Chinese. I have something else I have to work on that will make my different thing. I have to thank you for the reps since it put me over 1200. Not as many as others but lets me know I have done something others like.

A computer design of a Zeppelin using Lego elements. It currently does not have a bottom tail fin, control cars, and the stand will be a bear because this would be quite heavy. It is definitely NOT lighter than air. It is made to 1/144 scale so it measures at over 44 inches in length and 5 inches in diameter. Now to see if I can build this beast.

I do admire the true to original Polish Pre-War Khaki color you used on the planes. It is just right!
I recall the days of my youth back in 70-ies and the first 1:72 models I was building without access to proper paints. Had only some instructions how to obtain this strange color. It was a special mix of green, yellow and black!
Now even Pactra offers Polish Khaki I and Polish Khaki II acrylics and both are really good.

Andy the MS 406 is painted using Flames of War Khaki Gray. I have 3 different shades of Khaki. 2 are from Flames of War. The khaki gray and plain khaki. The other is MIG khaki and it is a different shade. When I was looking at colors on site said that there were a few different shade of khaki the Poles used. I used the khaki gray which to me is more of a brown color but it looks ok and besides these are what if planes.

Well I hope to get some decals on some different planes this week so I can post them by next week. These will have a story to go along with the models so the whole thing will be something different.

Well did the decals on these. I had them painted for some time and finally put the decals on. Again something different.

Facinating little aircraft. One could only ponder about what a battle between these and some B-29s would look like.

I looked at the Me-163 when I did my take on WW2 jets, but the thing's so darn fast, it would be blind luck to get a shot off at it.
And apparently it was quite maneuverable too. Except for it's 8 minutes of thrust, and tendency to explode, not a bad little interceptor

That Chieftain looks extra yummy, Andy - one of my all-time favorite modern tanks. Got a chance to see them up close and personal in West Berlin in the mid-'70s Hope you enjoy the modern version of the game - I have played the WW2 version, and it is quite fun.

The Urban camo (very interesting) scheme from 1989 Berlin Parade, probably the Stillbrew version.
I decided to make it in the earlier (turret) variant, more suitable for IIIWW clashes in Europe, IMHO.

In the 70s it was still the standard BAOR black and green camo, Dave. Made it up to Smuts Barracks to see the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards celebrate Nunshigum Day, and then at the Queen's Birthday Parade at the Olympiastadion, they had Chieftains fire the salute... While I do like that urban camo, I think my favorite is still the black and green version...and it would be much easier to paint on a 1/100 scale model!

    All the best,
    Matt

Whilst tanks sported the scheme in that parade the Berlin Brigade scheme apparently originated with the officer commanding the 4/7 Royal Dragoon Guards tank squadron in Berlin in 1982.

Yep, Dave, that's how they looked - a classic scheme, to be sure!

I first saw the urban scheme in pictures in Military Modeling magazine in the early '80s - I remember thinking how cool it looked and how well it would work in certain parts of West Berlin...I think it was 4/7 DG who pioneered the scheme at the time...

Thanks for the stroll down Memory Lane I think I may have slides/pics from the Nunshigum Day festivities in '78 - I will see if I can find them...

    All the best,
    Matt

I really want to try out Neil's air to ship rules, but I needed a German torpedo plane. I asked Daryl of ReducedAircraftFactory fame if he could make a model of the Gotha WD-11. He was most obliging. I purchased two because I hope at one point to have the airplanes attack a convoy of three freighters with a destroyer escort using two torpedo planes and two bombers.

A very nice model. Now I have to obtain some naval hex decals. I have some Americal/Gryphon camouflage in 1/72, but I guess it wouldn't look right. However the 1/72 crosses will work (small 1/72 is large 1/144).

Those are sizable planes, Robert! I really look forward to seeing how they turn out There are several decal makers who do German Naval hex-pattern camo - I am sure you can find some pretty easily...check out Aviattic Models - I believe they do 1/144 scale naval hex decals...

Rob, I look forward to seeing your Malta airfield take shape - looking forward to the pictures of your progress

I'm afraid I don't understand the question. I didn't wash the models, as some people do, and just sprayed them with 'Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 Gray." I really haven't painted model airplanes in over 40 years so this will be a new adventure for me.
