Thread: How do you apply the full wing decals?

  1. #1

Question How do you apply the full wing decals?

As the title says, I’m curious how you apply the decals IF they aren’t printed exactly to size. I’m thinking about making my own for an EIII project that is swirling around in my head. Do apply then cut with a razor blade? X-acto knife? Flip it over once dry and cut along the wing? Freehand cutting? Any suggestions welcome!

    Thanks in advance.

I think that It would be better to trim them before hand, that way you don't run the risk of ruining the paint or scratching up the miniature.

Hi Joe I created a template in plain paper and when happy with the fit I cut the decals to match it. Of course it's not always spot on but once dry I used a new scalpel blade to trim if oversized or filled in with a matching paint colour if undersized.
I've only done 6 full wings so far 4 bottom and 2 top so still very much a novice.
