It is May of 1942, a squadron of Spitfires has recently been transported to the island of Malta. A pilot and his wingman are on a patrol of the island. Pilot Officer Reade F. Tilley and his wingman, Flight Lieutenant Henry Orwell, are flying on the northern side of the island.
They sight a group of Italian planes heading toward Malta.
When the Italians sight the British they scatter.
"Orwell, you go that way and I'll go this way."
"Roger."
The Italians continue on their way and the British go with their plan.
Suddenly Orwell spots two Italian fighters coming at him.
And Flying Officer Tilley spots the remaining Italian fighter and the Stukas coming at him.
During the next round Orwell starts taking damage.
"Sir, I'm taking damage!"
"I hear you Orwell, I shot at the Stuka but I missed!"
"Sir, I just barely missed one of the fighters!"
"And I just missed a Stuka!"
"Orwell, I'm taking some damage, try to get over here and make a use of your self."
"Yes Sir."
"Orwell, hurry up!"
"Coming Sir."
"Concentrate your fire on the D.520."
The combined fire power of the Spitfires and earlier damage was too much for the D.520
"Sir, the Stukas are concentrating guns on me!"
"Do the American half-loop Orwell."
"Fire!"
"Sir, I missed the fighter."
"He did a American half-loop, and I hit him hard!"
"Gave him twice what I took!"
"Took twice what I gave him!"
"Orwell, their retreating, do another American half-loop!"
"Chase him!"
"He did an American half-loop and gave me a lot of damage!"
"Well, I just gave that Stuka a lot of damage!"
