    Default A Mess in Mesopotamia

The Wright Flight met at Epic Loot had played a couple great games. Ray, The G Dog, put together two great Mesopotamia scenarios. One an early mismosh of planes. The other a later war effort, He did a great job coming up with the planes and we had a lot of fun playing.

Yes Ray out did himself. His friend Matt supplied the Nieuports and I did the BE2Cs.

It is always good to see action in an unusual setting.

    Nice looking models.
I have several of the Ottoman-covered-cross aircraft that I plan to convert to Western front use, but will keep one or two of each untouched.
Looking for colours to vary my E.III a bit - i like the eggshell/grey look of yours.

Loved the early birds and what a bleak and barren landscape that mat is! I would hate to be shot down there. Survival would not be easy in the heat and sand.

Assuming you put the crate down in one piece you had the unenviable experience of trying to avoid the Turks cavalry patrols. If you succeeded there, you still had to survive the local Arabs. Many a pilot returned to his unit dressed in scraps of native garb after being relieved of their clothing and possessions by random Arab tribesmen who took advantage of the pilots misfortune.

If you want to know more, I highly recommend the book "Wings over Mesopotamia"
