Please forgive my pointing out one small thing, the Germans did not use the swastika as a national emblem in W.W.1.
But lots of pilots used the "good luck" swastika in WW1 (well, from ancient India onwards!) so this is actually a bit over-critical.

Were the good luck symbols not generally a Fylfot cross. A reversed Swastika?

Don't know if they were always reversed, but I remember reading that they were seen as symbols of good luck.

I like your work. How about playing a game and taking photos then substituting a drawing for each photo you use in an AAR? That would be different and cool.
