Default Herr Oberst Hors de Combat

I'm having surgery on my right wrist on the 12th, so I'm not sure how active I'll be on the site.
Hey Boss, hope the surgery went as planned, get well soon mate

Heal quick, heal strong! Hope you're back in the saddle sooner rather than later - as Karl says, follow the doctor's orders!

    All the best,
    Matt

Best wishes for a rapid recovery Keith but make sure you do not try to do too much too soon.

    Thanks everyone.

The op went well and everything looks good. I've got a large "soft cast" on and multiple layers of slings on. They did a nerve block, so I have absolutely no feeling in my entire right arm... for now. I'm sure tomorrow will be different! Using the mouse left handed is much easier than I thought it would be. Typing is a different story. My left hand flies over words that are all typed with that side, but stumbles with right handed and mixed handed words. lol.

I'd never do too much too soon. I waited 10 hours before firing up the laser and making some products.

    Glad everything went well, Keith.
Be a good boy and don't push it ...

I have a feeling I am going to be in a similar boat within the next few months.
Going to try physio first, though, in January. Would not want to be in a cast over Christmas / New Years.

In the meantime it's ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen in various combinations ....

Good to hear the news Heer Oberst.

We are coping in your absence, and you will soon be back to normal. Meantime you can always hold the reins between your teeth.

    All the best Rob.

Thanks everyone. Yesterday was a pretty good day. Was finally able to wiggle my fingers, but still no pain. I also managed to sleep for 10 hours last night (I normally only sleep 5 hours a night). I did wake up with the first signs of pain from the actual surgery though. Not too bad, but noticeable.

Having the cast/sling on over Christmas is not ideal, but much better for me than the spring or summer. Too much work to do around the property when the weather is nice.

Good to hear Boss, glad to hear you're on the mend - maybe a few snifters in the Mess will help ease the pain
