Captain Kiwi and his Wingmen spot the inbound Bandits approaching the White Cliffs.
The Me's objective, an RAF Search and rescue launch.
The protagonists close.
Spotting the Hurricanes the Huns turn toward the threat.
The first shots are exchanged.
A Dogfight ensues.
LED gets a hosing from two directions.
Having damaged LED severely the Mes break back toward their target.
As they close LED returns to catch the foremost Me napping with a steady burst from his machine guns.
Once again they are distracted and turn upon their tormentor whilst help appears in the distance.
A lucky round from the Launch damages the nearest Me.
Meantime, the other Me scores again on LET.
As does number two.
Return rounds from LET seem to have little effect.
Unfortunately the main armament from the Launch misses entirely.
As the next burst of cannon fire takes out LET and her pilot has to take to the silk.
The launch now gets involved in picking up the downed pilot.
But still has time to get off another off target shot at the nearest Me.
At last LET's Wingman bursts onto the scene and hoses the leading Me from point blank range.
The second Hurricane LED returning to the fray, now drops down on the unlucky Me from above (off screne) and delivers the coup de grace. The me pilot also hits the silk.
Whilst the Launch picks up the German aviator, the remaining Me now short on fuel andoutnumbered two to one decides to cut and run.
Despite a determined chase, he makes his getaway but without achieving his objective.
With one plane down each, one recovered RAF airman, and one German PoW.
The objective having not been achieved, it was declared a victory for Captain Kiwi's boys.
Von Kytel must await the chance to revenge himself.
Rob.
