Thread: Lucky Lady wins through again!

Default Lucky Lady wins through again!

For our Tuesday night battle we ventured into the WWII skies this week. Before the P51D escorts could not go all the way to Berlin and back with the bombers. In this scenario the B17 (piloted by Biggles Downunder aka Wayne) is under attack by two BF 109k's piloted by Mark and Baxter. The escort (piloted by Windy Jack aka Doug) soon joins the fray though and makes his presence felt. Local rules:- Boom card only gives half damage to the B17, Aim rule in force, 109's can respawn as 110's and P47 can rise again as a Spitfire, collision applies only if centre post is overlapped. The winning result is either bomber shot down or the bomber flies off the end of the table.

The 109'as have both been despatched. Despite the P47 going down, things are not looking good for the Reich. Now for the 110's!

The remaining 110 retires with 18/20 damage and a dead rear gunner. Coincidentally, the B17 also suffered 18 damage points but that was out of 50! I did not keep a record of the Spitfire damage but I think it was light. Epic battle and a victory for the Allies.

Great game and superb positioning by the Spitfire Gary.
I must get out my US aircraft more often too.

Enjoyed that. Pretty brutal and the B17 looked like it was always going to be a very hard nut to crack. Liked the presentation too, with great pics and the script on them. Not sure if I've seen that done too often before. REP inbound and thanks for sharing.

My recollection is that the Spitfire had 2 damage cards, one a 0 and the other a 2.
Thanks for the AAR, Baxter. A good presentation.
