In single scenarios I play risky, but I try to avoid head on head confrontations at all costs. I only make an exception to this rule, if my opponent is seriously damaged.

I've never played a multi scenario campaign. If I could take my pilot from one mission to another I would fly more safely, of course. I would considering to break up a mission, if the things are going bad, also.

Since I introduced WGF in our local wargaming group, the number of games I play in teams is raising significantly. In my opinion the game plays with 2x2 players and above the best. I like making tactics with my wingman and flying in formation.

I use single play only for maneuver training. By the way: are there kind of "racing" or "dexterity" training missions where the player has to maneuver around pylons or other obstacles?

    It depends.

One-off games, fly to the last point!

    Solo and Campaign:
I have been trying to play a campaign locally, and back when I was playing the Over the Trenches solo campaign, I would retreat when down 2/3rds damage, received engine damage, or was on fire. However, with my play testing of the upcoming WoG Campaign Rules, leaving the play area while on fire is death (Land to survive!).

    Teams, depending on opportunity:
I just played a trial of my Vimy Ridge scenario for Prague at our "Last Saturday of the Month at the Museum" day, we had three pilots. One flew the three Germans, two pilots flew the RFC planes (one with a scout and the two-seater, one with two scouts). The RFC players did not discuss maneuvers. One game, the RFC did awesomely (two targets photo'ed, and got back to base), the second game... the two-seater barely made it to the first target.

Carry on! Will the pack be released this year?

As a play tester, I have no visibility on the release process. What I've played (admittedly not nearly enough), it works well.

Hopefully, this year. It should be a boxed set with cards and counters, so not as susceptible to Chinese Factory issues?

    Me too!

I try and size up my opposition, and play as the situation demands-reckless if my opponent is easily intimidated, team tactics if there are several experienced opponents on the board, cautious if I don't know what's in stord. There does not seem, to me, to be one overriding style of play.

I didn't see the option "somewhat sober..."

    Thumbs up

    Really depends on the Scenario!
If objective based I play somewhat cautiously but if I need to take out say a Bomber or enemy aircraft then I get aggressive.

I tend to get stuck in, rather than hang about trying to be too clever................

That's why I always end up very badly damaged, or shot down!

I tend to do the same, Tim - although it does depend on the scenario...and almost invariably sometime during the game, I find I have plotted a 'left' when I meant to go 'right'! And then the comedy ensues...

    All the best,
    Matt
