    Default Drinks are on me

As I sit with old comrades after a poignant Rememberance Day parade in Sunderland I raise a glass to all who have fallen, past, present and for the future.

    We Will Remember Them.
See you on the Dark Side......

Heading out to pay my respects in a few hours.

This year, we won't be standing in the rain, but it will be cool.

I try to remember training days in the military, in winter, summer, snow, blazing sun, and how uncomfortable that was, but how little danger I was in. Then, try to imagine the mud, lousy rations, shelling, snipers, landmines, barbed wire, rats and lice. And men that did it for years, not days or months.

A few moments being uncomfortable is a small effort, nearly insignificant, to pay respect to those who fought for my right to stand in the wet and cold, free.

I'll happily join you in Neil.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

Our local church was packed for the Rememberance Service this morning. It was good to see so many people wishing to remember and honour the fallen.

Quite a good crowd for a town of 17,000. And a few WWII Vets in attendance.

    We will remember them.

A solemn cheers to you Neil, and to all who served.

Spent most of the day driving and had some time to reflect on all those that gave it all in the Great War and World War Two to keep the world free. One cannot imagine what the world would be like today if they hadn't.
