Still disapointed with a mold being wasted on a unpopular Night Fighter variant but happy that this release is Axis Centric as the Axis forces have only one bomber to the Allies three.

Where is it indicated that the Ju.88 is a nightfighter?

I don't think it's a Ju-88, but rather one of the Do-17s, Karl. When this series was first announced, one of the Dorniers had a solid nose, and one of our members identified it as a night fighter variant, possibly a Do-217 IIRC.

The Do.17 looks a good bit different than the Do.217. I really hope they didn't think people would notice

Thank you for those pictures, Daniel!

I'm ok with a nightfigter variant.

We have Beaufighters, Bf.110s & Lancasters.

Looks like the far right two-engine plane is the solid-nosed Dornier...

Like Sven, I am okay with a night-fighter variant - but then, I find myself fascinated by that 'theater' of operations and want to fly some missions with various planes. Are those SM79s I see on the top shelf, far right? Very nice, indeed - I always thought that was a nifty looking bomber, and certainly essential to the Axis effort in the Med.

I look forward to seeing the paint schemes for these

    All the best,
    Matt

Probably a Do 17Z-7 or Z-10 variant, as I recall they both had solid noses.

They certainly look as if they could soak up a bit of my money Daniel.(The aircraft I mean.)

Ah yes, Olivia. She runs things at Ares USA, with her father, Jim, in semi-retirement.

I have seen these on the Spiel 2018 game fair in Essen, Germany (25.-.28. October 2018).
The seem to be prototypes of the Dornier 17, Bristol Blenheim, Junkers 88 and SM-79
from the paned release in the 3rd/4th quarter 2019.

You will find more pictures on my album.

    Have fun!

JU88 was a Multirole Aircraft, one of which was as a Night Fighter.

I'm aware of that Reg; my question was where in the display did it indicate a Ju.88 was a nightfighter.
Since the NFs had solid noses, and the bombers (mostly) had greenhouse noses, I would think that's a big enough difference that we wouldn't see both
    in the same release.

    Karl,
Please note that Ares is releasing two versions of the Bristol Blenheim. A Mk I and a Mk IV. Radically different noses, same release.

PS: From the above images, the Do.17 has the different noses, not the Ju.88.

    Good point Karl!
However, I will settle for anything I can get in the Light to Medium Bomber range after all this time.

Sorry Karl, just meant that as a JU88 it could be a Night Fighter. Just paint it black?

Not necessarily. Here is a excellent night fighter Sven did.

Hopefully, the factory can handle the differences. Might need to re-glue noses a bit. (yes, I'm cynical......or at least experienced).

Will they get around to releasing official torpedo bombing rules?

It would indeed. Can't really fight the PTO battles without torpedoes. Will US use a different damage draw than the Japanese to reflect their differences in reliability ? ;-)

What I've done is for Japanese torpedoes is draw 2 chits and take the highest, early US draw 2 take the lower, later US same as Japanese. I use D chits for damage.

If they are going to sell us Dornier night fighter, perhaps they should release official night fighting rules also.
