    Default Vintage AT-6 Crashes on California Highway

    Remarkably no one was injured. Plane was painted with WW2 German insignia -- so "scratch one Jerry'.....Please see story:

    That was not me... because I would never fly a WWII airplane with German insignia.

    i saw this earlier. took me a bit to find out it was an at-6 as opposed to a vintage fw-190. the 1st pic i saw, only the cowl/motor, and a wing was visible, and i thought it didnt look right for an fw-190.

    its sad to loose any warbird but you can imagine how my heart fell when the 1st stiory identified it as a vintage fw-190.

    Well we must just be pleased that nobody was hurt. It is better to mourn the passing of an FW than a human being.

    Because I am learning to fly single engine prop planes I would be interested in the investigation report on this one. Details such as altitude, wind conditions, VFR, was it a stall, etc. Agoura Hills, CA is approximately 16 miles from the nearest airport (unless I am missing a small private airport somewhere).

    Certainly a very lucky escape for the Pilot & car drivers.
    Looks like he used some serious skill to set it down on the road divider.
