Sometime ago I found myself in a park in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, were I discovered a memorial plaque stating that where I was standing was the sight of a "Downed" Zeppelin, L31, shot down 1st October 1916, By 2Lt Wulstan Tempest, flying a Bristol BE2c, 4577 of No 39 (HD) Squadron, The German Navy Zeppelin airship L31,was commanded by Kapitänleutnant Heinrich Mathy. 2Lt Tempest was awarded the DSO, for his night action, over Hertsmere's
They say lightning doesn't strike twice in the same spot , Wrong I went to the Imperial War Museum London, to find myself looking at what was left of the L31
It's not much but It did send shivers down my spine.
