During WW2 one of the main problems with aerial attack was "Hitting the Target", most of the bombs dropped by the axis and allies air force's missed by miles, the USAF looked to it's scientists to remedy the issue, One of the first answers was the "Norton bombsight"
Although it was an improvement, research continued hence the "Pigeon Bomb" It was essentially an explosive warhead inside of a small glider, with three PIGEON'S at the controls in the nosecone, Pigeons were trained to peck at a moving dot on a screen, each time the pigeon hit the spot, a food reward was received, the next step was to substitute the dot for a ship, pecking the dot/ ship operated control surfaces and kept the weapon on target.
Alas it was never used in combat, due to improvement in conventional targeting,
