They say "seeing is believing" but in this case I'm not so certain, behold the American WW1 experimental Artemis Rifle,
Ill never think of "Small Arms Fire" in the same light again, not far behind a British "Trench warfare Elephant gun" which must have been very effective, as I don't recall any Elephants breaking through the frontline,
The last highly impractical "Weapon system" speaks for it's self.

You missed this photograph. It shows a M1895 Colt-Browning machine gun mounted on an elephant.

I’m curious if this is a WWII British Home Defense weapon for the possible German invasion? Considering some of the off the wall things that came up I really wouldn’t be surprised.

The elephant guns used were big game hunting rifles, much more handy for anti sniper work !
