Whoops, on a second look I see I should NOT have contradicted the Wingco as he is RIGHT and I am WRONG as usual!

Regardless of the games being portrayed, it's a bunch of great pictures - and, as always, it's lovely to see the faces and associate them with their names on the Forum

    All the best,

    Dan, Tim, I stand corrected!
    I now sit down again.
Seriously though, I am glad people enjoyed themselves.

Lets try a bit of circling practice then.

    WOW! What an AMAZING shot!!

It seems Doncaster was a great event...so many varied ARES-based scenarios, planes and ships...wish I could have been there. I love the North African battle mat and the Trafalgar scenario, in particular, has me drooling!!! Kudos to all who hosted. Maybe my bride and I will be able to "cross the pond" and join in someday...it looks like it would be a lot of fun!!!!

Can you see the Bulldog on Kyte's aircraft just below the cockpit Mike?
We would love to see you over this side of the pond.

Desert mat was great - even the natural slashing of the textile was great, because it resembled sand dunes

The setup for the first part of Hedeby's W.W.1 campaign, 9 a.m.Saturday morning. 3 D.H.2's and a Strutter versus 2 Albatros D.II's and 2 Roland C.II's. Each side had six mission cards to scout and fulfil (3 photo-reconnaissance targets, 2 bombing targets and 1 trap - a flak battery).

A rare kill. On such a large map with slow planes and B-guns, it was difficult to catch an opponent and do enough damage to shoot it down.

Some pictures of the MARVELLOUS Doncaster Con 20118.
Up front I would like to apologize for any mistakes and or omissions in this “report”.
During games I most certainly have missed things and afterwards I “may” have forgotten or misinterpreted what actually happened … Oh well … here goes …

    “Whirwind visit” by John Biggles

    The mission:
destroy a train moving through Northern France carrying tanks and supplies …
3 Whirlinds flown by Daniel (Dan-Sam), Amy Biggles (Whispering Death) and Guus (Aardvark1430) attacking a train moving throught the French countryside, defended by 4 Me109E’s flown by Strangely Brown (Simon), FaD (Juliet), Hawkhurst (Andy) and Marian (Deadly M). Train driver & Flak commandant: John Biggles himself.
A rather unsporting advantage to the Germans … it would seem …

It was an excellent experience I had, Chris. I was also amazed by the way you kept control of the game. Order in chaos
