Hi Guy, I seem to have missed the boat over the "Ace Cards" I have just acquired my first two packs thanks to our "Wing Co" to add to three "sets" out of the Aeroplane packs I had, But here's my problem I don't know what's on the market, I have packs WGF701A WW1 Ace & Skill cards promo deck, and WGF702A WW1 Aces-Career deck, What am I missing?

So here are my questions 1) Does Eddie Rickenbacker have any Ace cards?
    2) Does Frank Luke have cards above level 2?
    3) How many different packs have been issued?
    4) How do you use them in a game, if the "Other side" EG a Turkish plane V and Allied Ace Pilot (Georges Guynemer with six skills) how do you balance that fight?

Last does anyone hold a full list of Ace cards, they could post?

Everything ever released by Nexus and Ares:
WOW & WOG Complete Listing Jun 2017

Not much for Ace Cards, nowhere near a complete coverage of anyone, really. More is coming in new Airplane Packs, though from approximately Series 9+ and Series 3 (Reprints) there have been added Ace and Equipment cards. So more is coming, but not in a separate Ace Card pack (yet).

    Hi Drew:
1: Don't recall seeing a set for Eddie yet. Maybe if he's in Series 1 reprint again he'll get carded ?
2: No, Luke died on the end date given. Though arguably he could be given Balloon Buster. (maybe that came out later ?)
3: There were 'Crew Skill' sets in with the Giants with generic cards, ie unassigned to particular pilots.
4: The idea I believe was to fight the aces at their different skill levels throughout the war but clearly you can assign skills as you like & I believe they feature in the points system Andrea has created to aid balance, though I'd have thought the idea was to create imbalance & give a pilot an edge or a challenge !
5: I created a file here from the info in the FAQ sticky that may help.

If you are skilled enough to produce your own cards, Drew, I would not worry. If you are running a game, you can give a pilot any skill you like. There is another thread somewhere on this site where a member has made his own cards.

The long promised 'Campaigns and Scenarios' pack from Ares is supposed to be going to contain cards for every ace skill and every piece of special equipment but we have no idea now when we are likely to see them.

OldGuy59's WGF Ace Skill Cards Album

These were meant to print onto perforated business card sheets and given out at games. They were complete, at the time, but the game has progressed since.

The Campaign and Scenario Pack should be out by next year, hopefully, and as Dave says above, it will have a good range of skills to use.

PS: For Skype and pick-up games, and at demos or cons, I came up with a quick way to distribute skills as a way to introduce them to new players. Note that this was for WGS, but it can be used for WGF, using an A Damage deck.

To hand out the skills, I came up with a quick selection process. Participants drew 'C' damage chits. If they drew a special damage, they got an Ace Skill:

    Boom: . . . . . . . . . Lucky Pilot
    Fire: . . . . . . . . . . Daredevil
Rudder Jam Left:. . Acrobatic Pilot
    Rudder Jam Right: .Height Control
Gun Jam Red: . . . .Sniper (Due to the way damage is done over Skype, this was replaced with Bullet Checker in those games)
Gun Jam Green: . . Bullet Checker
    Pilot Wound: . . . . .Strong Constitution
Engine Damage: . . Perfect Aim
    Smoke: . . . . . . . .Itchy Trigger Finger

The Super Ace card wasn't used for this scenario, but I will be using it in future games, as well as adding all the other skills to the album, eventually.

    Good plan Drew !
Luke achieved 6 balloon victories between 12th & 15th Sept so you could date the Balloon Buster Ace skill from the 16th.
By the 18th he'd shot down 4 more (3 shared), and 3 aircraft ! He'd also lost his wingman that day.
He was dead 11 days later but had dropped 4 more balloons and another two seater by then.
Rather than giving him weapon specialist I'd be inclined to give him a flying skill like Daredevil or Acrobatic pilot to make the Spad XIII a bit more handy in the attack, probably the latter might be better and that level 4 could come in from the 19thSept.

A very neat bit of work on those cards Drew. Did you transpose the extra skills from another card?
