Reading the thread on Blood Red Skies and the Mosquito release and I got to thinking .....
Would that aircraft be a good match for a battle with 110's in WGS?

Probably not. The Bf-110 was not the plane the German's wanted in a heavy fighter.
The Beaufighter can beat it in firepower, and neither was as fast as the Mosquito, which also beats the Bf-110 in firepower (both British fighter versions had 4 20mm cannons).
PS: There is an excellent quote for the de Havilland Mosquito by Goering:
"In 1940 I could at least fly as far as Glasgow in most of my aircraft, but not now! It makes me furious when I see the Mosquito. I turn green and yellow with envy. The British, who can afford aluminium better than we can, knock together a beautiful wooden aircraft that every piano factory over there is building, and they give it a speed which they have now increased yet again. What do you make of that? There is nothing the British do not have. They have the geniuses and we have the nincompoops. After the war is over I'm going to buy a British radio set - then at least I'll own something that has always worked."

I'd say historically, I'd go with the I-16, D.520, or Hurricane. When the Bf-110 met them attempting to establish air superiority over Russia and France, it usually came down to who saw who first. The Bf-110 could combat many of the early war single engine types when allowed to roam and disengage at will. Once restricted to bomber escort you start to see the flaws of the design become a bit more apparent. I would personally take this into account when setting up scenerios. Have the two sides role off and let the winner roll a 12 sided dice to decide approach angle to the loser.
