Cheers!
I have two MvR all red Triplanes.
On the LEFT a modified NEUX original: peg removed to acomodate a gimball, pilot added
On the RIGHT an un-touched ARES original
I'm trying to figure out which one is better -- the in this contest will be repainted into Werner Voss'
Over all these are my impressions:
ARES MODIFIED:
Pross:
I like its brighter red color better
Spining propeller
Cons:
Modifications: peg removed and pilot added
Rudder is not accurate (to square)
NEUX ORIGINAL:
Pros:
Completelly originial from a collectors perspective: it has its peg
Rudder seems to be better represented -- although I think it may be a little to small (?)
Cons:
I don't like its darker red color
No spining propeller
Possible modifications:
IMPROVED ARES:
Add a 3D printed peg, paint it red, make it look like original
Remove or improve pilot
Clip parts of rudder to roud it up -- make it more realistic
NEUX MODIFIED:
Carefully add a coat or two of a lighter and brighter red
So ... QUESTIONS FOR THE POLL:
Which of the FOUR possible Triplanes is better: ARES as it is? ARES with further modificatiosn? NEUX as it is? NEUX with SUGGESTED MODIFICATIOSN?
I'm also interested to know which original miniature you guys prefere overall and why, both from historical and game pourposes
