Thread: Past the Fokker Scourge

  1. #1

    Default Past the Fokker Scourge

The intention of this scenario is to mirror the change of air superiority as different aircraft became available. It will start with Fokker E.III and Morane-Saulnier. When each of them is downed it will be replaced by a Halberstadt D.III and DeHavilland DH2 respectively.

    Set-up: 3 mats. 1 trenches, 1 countryside, 1 other.

Victory conditions: The side that has aircraft still flying while all opponents have been downed.

Starting positions: The initial aircraft are just off the centre mat facing each other. (This is in recognition of their slow speeds.) The replacement aircraft join the fray from half way across the end mats at the side.

If the scenario goes according to history, the Fokkers will account for the Morane-Saulniers. Then the DH2s will deal with the Fokkers. Finally, the Halberstadts and DH2s will battle it out, with the favourites being the Halberstadts.

Only some of the action is shown in the following photographs.

It seems like the remaining Fokker has been abandoned. However the skirmish was a long way from where the first Halberstadt began its entry.

Thanks for the comments, fellas, and for rep. It was a fun game. One of the reasons I chose it was so I could fly my newly purchased DH2, but the roll of the dice saw me fly a Fokker and a Halberstadt! They were both my Shapeways planes, so I didn't mind flying them.

Thank you for the good A.A.R., Doug. It made a change to see some early planes in action.
