Well all I can say is "No I am not Chuckie v2.0"
After seeing the other versions of this posted I expected to take a real thumping from the Bulldogs.
My last outing achieved a perfect score so i assumed it would be back to 'business as usual' this time around.
Near as dammit to a perfect score!
I didn't have as much trouble using Peter's modified charts for the Eagles and one Bulldog as I thought I would.
I am not used to rolling dice for these - I modified Dave's D8 charts to Excel and used those for the Camel's and two Snipes.
All the Adler were AI controlled to take advantage of the special 'Ace' moves.
I did manage to avoid having as many collisions as some have had, but did get a few none the less.
Becker came away with 3 kills - he is now only one behind Wolfram, who is himself one kill away from triple ace.
Schmidt, the triple ace, disappointed with only one kill this outing. Not sure I made the right choice giving him Marksman II.
Because Peter gave us basically Daredevil and Acrobatic Pilot for all in this mission I decided choosing one of those would be wasted.
I also feel that those are only good for a plane that you control yourself because the charts are not set up to use them.
I did kick around Quick Shot and Deadly Aim but decided I liked the 3-card draw and 4-card draw at close range. That did come in handy at least once or twice, so I suppose Marksman II was the way to go.
I must say, however, that I am really disappointed with my dice rolls for C&W and EET.
One rookie KIA.
Another, along with two regular pilots, POW.
And one who may as well be KIA or POW as he has flown his last mission.
The only one who survived was the one designated 'ace' who took engine damage on the first shot and was forced to leave!
Sorry, Dave, but I will likely need to add to your admin duties for the remaining two missions.
(Unless, perhaps, I can draw from my Americans or Belgians for those, depending on what Carl and Rob have in stores for us.)
A huge victory, so why am I so down?
I guess it's because we get to know our Bulldog pilots almost as well as our own.
Soooo ... A toast to our gallant foe!
Thanks, Peter, for yet another excellent scenario.
