Default It was a regular day until 5pm...

... and then I had my first flight lesson!

I have been looking forward to this since my lovely wife gave me the first lesson as a gift. I was enthusiastic going in, but despite high expectations the experience was so AMAZING that I am, for once in my life, actually at a loss for words, so how about a couple of photos:

I actually piloted the airplane right after taking those. For the remainder of the flight taking more photos could not have been further from my mind.

Now I need to order a decent headset!

    Nice photos!

Glad it exceeded even your high expectations (it's GREAT when an activity does that!).

    Congratulations!

It had always been a dream of mine to fly and same as you, my wife gifted me a lesson for my birthday. Within about a year (I took my time due to money constraints) I had earned my private pilot's license. That was 15 years ago and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in life.

You should post updates on your training. I would love to follow your progress!

P.S. You have the right idea about the headset. Don't skimp on this as it's important to be comfortable and be able to hear properly. Take it from someone who was a a cheapskate and used a crummy uncomfortable headset for a long time.

Great going Scott. So, next June you'll be flying to Origins picking up other 'Dromers along the way?

If I could get access to an airplane for that long (without breaking the bank) it would be an awesome trip!

Nice one. I can see you saving up for a replica Nieuport and really beating up the town.
