This month is more "Bolt Action" than "Wings of Glory" for me.

    Hmmm... another card challenge.

I will have to restrain the twitching until I get back from my trip.

If it gives you any idea of the quality you've achieved, at first glance I thought the photo must be a computer rendering, because everything is so perfectly textured it couldn't be real. Well done!

Compound with two Airfix 1/48 buildings

    Drone's-eye view of the village

All made out of cork floor tile with MDF bases and dry-brushed, with a couple of domes from the local Hobbycraft store.
    Nice looking, Steve.
How tough was the cork tile to cut and assemble?
I'm looking at options for terrain.

Dead easy Karl. I used a Stanley Knife to cut the tile, then superglue to assemble it although you could use PVA if you want to wait for it to dry.

Got the ideas (and nicked some of the plans) from Matakishi’s Teahouse site, he has a lot of useful stuff there - www.matakishi.net

Click on Projects then Building Things.

Most of these are home made from the high density foam inserts from ammo boxes; only four are purchased models, they are the slightly lighter colour two storey jobs from The Colonial Steamboat Company.

Beautiful work here this month! Wish I had more time to spend at the workbench myself, but with the house move, that won't be happening anytime soon...

That little Panhard is wonderful, Eric - I've always liked the looks of that particular vehicle.
And your Albatros project is going to be stunning, Ezekiel
Steve, those cork tile buildings are amazing, and like Karl, I just visited that chap's site and it is a treasure trove of info and ideas.
Zoe, thanks for the reminder that even Nazgul need to freshen up occasionally! Did you manufacture the toilet game scenery pieces or are the available commercially?

Well done - and the month is only almost halfway over...

    All the best,
    Matt

Doesn't appear to be really difficult. Are you painting the wings overall white?

Doing pretty much only graphics this month. Besides the Forum stuff, here is a Comox Air Force Museum project I am working on:

We have a "Women of The Air Force Division" (WAF Div) display, and they wanted a picture of the person for whom we are displaying a uniform. This is what we scrounged up from the Memory Project (Link: www.thememoryproject.com: Ruth Masters/):

I'm working on 12 Valom kits (2 each of Albatros DVa, S.E.5a, Fokker E.III, Nieuport 11, Bristol F2b Fighter and Rumpler C.IV), in batches.

Doing one of each first to get a feel for each kit and to compare them. The first Bristol and Albatros are done:

As usual with closeups of 1/144 stuff you DO pick up all the flaws I shall be filing those butts more even shortly...

I've been making notes on the "Are Valom Kits any Good?" thread, but will probably just do a summary post when I've made up all 6 types. All of them have their own special little problems, though the Rumpler looks like it might be the best of them (Just started that today). The S.E.5a and Fokker are close to completion, with the Nieuport and Rumpler just started today.

The sight of that Matchbox model kit box really swelled the old nostalgia. When I was a kid back in the mid-70's those were the only kits we liked (Airfix was a touch too fiddly, and the Matchbox tank kits came with dioramas).

Got HE 111 bases and 1 deck of cards (will run em as a formation). Just need pegs for the bases...sigh.

Basic AIM models, just put a piece of wire in for the bow MG and antenna on top.

Looking great! I added a few Ares He-111's with V-1's under wing with micro magnets! Interesting they were not popular when they came out, now they are hard to find, even in white!

With the only game (and planes) in town being BoB it makes sense.
