Default My first WoG WW1 repaints

Started off simple and then tried to progress to more challenging paint jobs.
Pretty pleased with them so far. Sorry about the picture quality/light.

You've made a really nice job of these, do you mind me asking how you held the planes while painting, did you clamp into the peg?
    Cheers

Thanks guys, your all very flattering of my rookie efforts.
I hope to try a few more this year.
John, I am always telling myself to hold the model with a peg or some such, but every time I paint I end up holding it in my left hand and bumbling along in the same way I've done since painting my first warhammer fantasy miniatures back in '87.
    One day I may change

Thanks, I've got a few planes to paint and hoped you had a better solution than mine, which is holding it in my left hand :-)

Nice work, for sure, Steven! The Eindecker is a striking repaint - I love the reverse colors on the wing crosses...

Hi Mike, thanks for the compliment!
The three blue and green Aviatik's are repaints of the Ares Sabreditsch Aviatik D1. You can often find this plane cheap on many dealers webstores. It is the Brown and tan one with the over wing machine gun. The plane has a good movement deck and a B damage machine gun, check out the planes walk through section pinned in the General section of the forum.

    Doh...

The color scheme completely threw me off. I have all three of the series and have paired them off many times with Hanriots...but didn't even recognize them! Guess I should pull them out more often.

    Steven,
For two of your planes, there are cards in one of my albums:
WWI Central Powers Fighters - Ltn Otto Kissenberth
WWI Central Powers Fighters - Ltn de Reserve Josef Jacobs

Other planes might take a while, and I don't have a template for the Aviatik D.1. Hmmm... I want to honour that flight's paint scheme...

Lovely work there Mike. Thanks for the links. Is it possible that you could modify the picture to be the over wing gun variant of the D1?

Very nice bases for your spiffy looking Pups Steve, did he engrave & colour them or is that a decal/sticker ?
