My birthday present

Every couple of years my daughters and my wife give me a joint present of a flight and this year was no exception. In the past I've had 2 aerobatic rides in Nanchangs and yesterday went for this year's ride - a flight in a beautifully restored Stearman - some sightseeing, some aerobatics and a chance to (briefly) fly it myself and it was a load of fun!

We also did some rolls and some hammer-head stalls.

I do like those Stearman's.
Had a flight in a Tiger Moth a few years back thanks to my eldest daughter Jenny & her husband Geoff.

Fantastic. I once took a glider ride over the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The pilot teased me and talked about some acrobatic moves but was not allowed to do them.

Lucky guys...best I could do was fly right seat in a Cesna 152. Almost got a B17 ride for my 50th years back but wife balked at the $400 price tag. 3 years till 60..time to start saving.
