Indeed! I had little knowledge to this huge event until I toured the museums in Wellington and saw the Imperial War Museum and the Peter Jackson/Weta presentation at Te Papa, astoundingly epic! May we never forget!

I had the privilege of taking my 14 year old grandson to the street march here in Adelaide and he was fascinated and asked many questions about his great grandfather who was in the navy in WW2.

One of the highlights for me was the flypasts that accompanied the parade. Early in the parade was a trio of Tiger Moths, end of the parade was the inevitable Orion and in the middle of it... wait for it... a restored CAC Boomerang!!

As always a salute to those brave men and women for what they did and are still doing.

Our parade was concluded (as always) by the re-en-actors from the Light Horse - a stirring sight!

It's a couple of years since I've been to a dawn parade here in Auckland, but I'm continually surprised at how
the event gets bigger each year.
It makes me really proud to be a Kiwi when the 'younger' generation lends their support, in ever increasing
numbers, to an institution such as this.

    Lest we forget.

    Cheers Grandad.
