Silent death was the space fighter game for me, got a couple of fleets knocking around the house somewhere.
They are in the Earthforce Source Book

Thanks Dave!
Will buy it tonight!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
With all of the X-Wing and Armada miniatures I wonder if I could use Silent Death or Full Thrust?
Haven't heard something about BSG gaming mats, so I ordered one
Ultimate Guard UGD010467 - 90 x 90 cm
Nice background and rubber underside

Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Proud owner of the BSG Calactica game invlusive „Starbuck“ promo card.
Many thanks to Christian (Lindinho)
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Sven, NEVER EVER do the same with BG as with SoG!
Hmmm...
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
No Sai...Galaxies!
I need to ask... what went on with SoG?
Just give a little present to your friends...
...and they are hooked.
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Sad story, Scott, very sad. I did not want to jump into it and Sven made things in way that I have 20+ mini ships right now. He devil!
Need to check the potential of BSG and hope for some Viper single packs.
Unboxing tomorrow.
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Never ever you devil!
Is the Starbuck promo card included in all Starter Sets or was it exclusively given out to attenders at Essen?

"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
As far as I know, Ares has a very friendly policy about promo cards - they are usually easy to find after some time.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
My lad would've enjoyed that Andy - he's a big X-Wing fan, though with the little man arriving he's not had much time for gaming.
I did this Nashtah Pup to go with his Houndstooth model for him a couple of years back:

Dave! A beautiful paintjob indeed! I have this set and you have made me think of such a repaint
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Well worth the effort Andy and it doesn't take long.
For info paints used were an old GW snakebite leather, put on thinly and with a little white added. The red was the original GW blood red, and the missiles were tipped with GW Blood Angel red (after these photos taken). You should be able to find out the equivalent colours from GW in their new paint range (many are the same, they just changed the names...
and charged more money !

Not into Sci Fi a lot but I know a good job when I see it.

A colonial Viper and a Cylon raider in comparision with a Pfalz D.III
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Sven, what I see is a very, very good painting on those starships. Comparing to the Pfalz - at least 12 parsecs ahead.

Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Rulebook says that we have to buy the plastic control panels separately, like the SoG ship mats.
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
25 GBP for a Colonial Viper or a Cylon Raider sounds a bit steep to me, Sven... They are very pretty paint jobs, indeed, but that price per ship may take them out of my range - while I enjoyed the original show (and haven't seen the remake), I'm not as big a fan of it as I am of the Star Wars franchise. I look forward to seeing the BSG stuff in person when it hits the stores...
Thanks for posting the great close-up pictures
All the best,
Matt
25 GBP for a single plastic starfighter ... sounds like I was right to stay with good old X/W . Now I buy new singles for 6 GBP. And can set up different mulitplayer battles. .
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
I'd like to wait for the reviews, especially with the control panel, but I'm not sure what the availability will be. Ares products are often hard to find and between X-Wing and WoG I don't want to spend a lot on another miniature game.
Ah, Sven, you joker...I missed the 'sly wink' emoji's meaning on that post... Still, I shall have to wait and see - I play WoG/WoW much more often than X-W, and my collection of historical miniatures is far greater than my SW stuff...and with X-W 2.0 coming out and the supposed need to re-equip or purchase the 'conversion' packs for what one already has, I am hoping to pick up a few X-W 1.0 ships at (perhaps) cheaper prices...
As Andrea said above, it is an opportune time for BSG to hit the shelves. I look forward, as I said, to seeing the stuff 'in the flesh' soon...
All the best,
Matt
Got my preorder in! I can't wait!!! (We need a "giddy" emoticon!)
The second Viper in the core box belongs to pilot Hardball. The letters are soooo tiny.
"Diana Seelix" was an origin mechanic on board of the Galactica and joined the pilots during season 3.

Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Andrea - I have a question:
Where to put the individual stickers on the flight bases?
Voilเ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I will play it today evening, hope I can upload an AAR here
Can not wait to read your report and first impressions, Daniel.
If you have any experience with X-Wing miniatures, please try to compare both systems as far as rules, playabilty, fun are concerned.
You guys (Sven and Daniel) are teasing me...well, I am going to start with the BG series on Showmax and then we will see...
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Sorry, but no experience with X-Wing. It is better for my wallet to keep out from some games despite the fact you need only Core Set...
That is exactly what I said about Tripods Daniel, and now I'm ฃ100 or more in and it has not even come out yet.
I wish I had Tim's strength of character.
NO X WING.
