Oberst Hajj, people ask for a forum:

    https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2130983/forum

Maybe a dedicated section here on wingsofwar.org ?
The Battlestar Galactica: Starship Battles Facebook page has 725 subscribers and they are increasing every day. It wouldn't be bad to giove them a home like this one..

Will the packs of Control Panels contain more ID Tags and ID Stickers and will there be letters other than A-H available to allow for more than eight ships per side?

I'd be impressed just getting any commentary about the app stretch goal from the Giants Kickstarter years ago. It is a partially fulfilled or unfulfilled Kickstarter campaign from Ares and it seems like they have no intention of fulfilling it or commenting.

In the Starter set were a bunch of stickers for, at least, eight ships a side.

If I were to guess, I would think that the Control Panels will come with tabs, but nothing else (my opinion, no idea what they'll actually do). Then, within the individual ship packs, there might be stickers for the Control Panels. Or, not, as there were a bunch in the Starter Set.

But, I think it likely that there will be stickers in the ship packs. What letters/numbers they might be? Not A to H, as they were in the Starter Set.

It is probable that Ares spent all the money they got out of the Kickstarter on an app, and it didn't work the way they wanted it to. Now, there is nothing they can do to create an app, without going back to the Kickstarter process, which isn't what anyone wants, least of all them, I'm sure. So, what can Ares say to anyone who supported the Kickstarter, and will never see the stretch goal? They got their main product out to customers, and that was a success.

For those that are waiting for the Tripods to come out, I'm expecting some disappointment on the WWII customers' side, as I feel that was a direction in which they should never have gone, and I don't know that it will get produced. Certainly not in a short timeframe, and not within the next two months.

Colour me very, very surprised, if the WWII version shows up with my order.

I'm always a little leery of stretch goals that don't feel as though they were part of The Plan. The WWII additions certainly felt like an add in response to community requests, rather than part of the initial campaign.

I'd not be surprised if you were correct.

I could make a sub-forum here on the site without too much difficulty. Could you announce it on the BGG and FB pages to help bring people over?

And do we have any current members that would like to moderate this new forum and add some content to get it started?

Yes, please do it and send me the exact URL of the section that you want to promote. I will spread it on several channels.

Okay, I have created the BSG: SB section here on the site:

    https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/fo...arship-Battles

I've moved this thread into the General Discussion section and I have also created a Mission section with an After Action Reports section in it. This should get us going for now.

Great! There are 55 people observing right now!

There are several more threads that you could move here, so that it can be seen aqs far richer and more lively:

I think it is not a good business practice to partially fulfill a Kickstarter campaign and not even address it. Now the idea is they are going to do that again? This doesn't make anyone want to support their products and everyone being okay with it or not spreading the word of unfinished Ares promises just gives them incentive to continue.

I'm not trying to simply sound like a grump. But we shouldn't be okay with this. Should we?

That is one of the reason I built this site for Wings some 9 years or so ago. Back then we were using a Yahoo group and it was not very good for communications and files. Speaking of files, we do have a Files section on the site (in the blue menu up top) and I just added a section for BSG. It will take a little while for people to start uploading stuff there, but if you poke around the Wings sections, you will see we have thousands of files for those games.

Not that I want the job, but I can see the need. So, I have accepted the nomination as Moderator for the BSG section of the Aerodrome. And I'm not picking sides, cause I can get behind either the meat sacks or the toaster.

I think it would have been better to have a separate site, but I also think a lot of the people who love Wings of Glory, and the Tripod spin-off, should be comfortable here. We'll see how this goes...

If you are going to be the moderator, I would suggest polling the others, but I think we need more sub-forums.
Currently we have a General area, and an area for Mission Discussions which I guess would be for talking about the game after it was played, but we also need an area for home brew scenarios (BSG SB is a game of scenarios).
    Just a thought.
Look at that, you’ve had the job only a couple hours and you’re already getting bothered.
    You must be popular. ☺️

More sub-forums is defiantly possible once we figure the real needs. You (used in the general plural form here) post home brew or official scenario discussions in the Mission sub-forum, and reports on games you have played in the After Action Report (AAR) sub-forum of Missions.

It did! Hopefully our new members can contribute more content to help grow that section... I only build the site, our users make it what it is!

I'll look in to the home page issue. They are showing up in the New Posts link at the top of the pages however.

Oh! And I found a character image of a Cylon from Season 1, Episode 5. Very appropriate:

Note: Yes, a toaster of this particular manufacturer and model did appear on the show.
And the Cylons have invaded the local grocery store!

Just went into the little kitchy kitchen kiosk to check on some things in their small appliance section, and saw these things:

    The rules are at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects.../posts/2330794

One and a half pages. Rather more on bombing and Tripod vs Tripod.

In anticipation of the production being completed, we are very excited to show you the final rulebooks for Tripods & Triplanes and all the extra rules we unlocked as stretch goals. Some of the rules are simpler, some are more complex, all required a great deal of time and playtesting, so we really hope you will like them! The rulebook also provides you with a great overview of the final look of all the game components.

(We will have these PDFs available for download on Aresgames.eu next week).
Er, no. They only had the 32 page WWI rules, not the 12 page stretch goal supplement. For that, see the URL above.
