Found this series recently on Amazon Prime, but may be available on other systems.

This is a Russian Series about a YAK squadron and set , I think , around 1942/43.
It is a mixed squadron and is quite , obviously, Russian biased, but it does have a few fight scenes between Me109 and Yaks, as well as infighting between an ex nobleman and the resident political commisar.
12 episodes which some may enjoy, I found it entertaining, especially the subtitles translations

Just watched the first episode Chris and you are right about the sub-titles when they actually put them up. There was a lot of dialogue with the German prisoner that never appeared. However I found it entertaining enough to probably watch the second episode tomorrow.

Both seasons of this are good (also on YouTube). There's another really good one on YouTube as well also from Star Media called "The Night Swallows", about the 588th Night Bomber squadron.
