This will be my 500th post so I want to take a moment to look back on the journey so far. I think something happens at 500 but I will not know until the submit button is clicked. As a reward for suffering through my post drinks are on the house!
As a person who loves statistics I have an immediate observation. I joined the Aerodrome during September 2014. By September 2016 I only had 148 posts. This was largely because I was still caught up in the grimdark future of the 41st millennium. However, I eventually detached myself from that universe and in a bit over 16 months I made an additional 352 posts, included an estimated 50 references to the “Corsair.” I also created new photo albums and worked on Andrea’s WGS point system project, as well as forging new connections.
Lessons learned form my experience may be summed up by the British philosopher musician Paul McCartney, “The love you take is equal to the love you make.” In other words, what you get out of an interaction is proportional to the energy put into it. I am going to avoid any long winded speeches and finish by thanking everyone for making my time here a pleasurable experience, even if I have not always been of gentle temperament.
Here is to my next 500, with a toast to all of you fine folk who make this site a unique and wonderful place!
