MISCMINI decals.
I see some of these pictures are not coming up. I have to wait and post them again. I don't know why this happens when I post a number of pictures.
Those invalid attachments are evil! Nice Pe-2s.
Sorry Bob; your last 2 posts just show attachment and a number for you pics

Yes I don't why that happens when I post a few pics in a row.
The Pe-2's are nothing special. Just a green pint job.
Nice pieces, only suggestion I would make is to try and paint the metal frames on the cockpits. Yeah, I know...a bit difficult to see and fiddly but worth the effort. But then I use a 2x visor and a clamp light at my paint table. Also maybe a thinned down black wash before adding decals to bring out the detail.
In addition to the planes I'm working on this month, I've been trying to get half a dozen tanks finished so we can play TANKS...
Below you see the 5 that are still WIP. The StuH 42 is the furthest along, with the Shermans not quite so far, and the Hetzer just in its basecoat.
The Sturmgeschuetz III is probably my favorite AFV of WW2, and this one with the 105 is turning out nicely - I decided to try the 'ambush' pattern on it, and I'll do another 75 version with some damaged side-skirts in the same pattern - 394 Assault Gun Brigade for Normandy...
Waiting on decals from 1/144 Direct right now, and then I'll finish 'em up and get them onto the board - we are looking forward to playing.
In addition, Shapeways just delivered a couple of Junkers D.1s and a J.1...some metal birds for the WW1 battlefield...
All the best,
Matt
Fantastic paintjob on those tanks and guns, Harry. I love the game of TANKS (we even enjoy a PL version) and also have some vehicles to build and paint. And yes, SG III is a fine, multirole workhorse of the war. A kind of "transformer" among the tanks.

We are really looking forward to playing, Andy - glad to hear you all play and enjoy it! I've been wanting to get into the game since Clipper mentioned it a while back, and his son's involvement in it
That card for the Hetzer looks great, Mike! The one you did for me of the Jagdpanzer IV was top-notch, too. Your ability to 'personalize' cards for our games never ceases to amaze me!
All the best,
Matt
Sorry to say Bob but this and the previous post are not showing the Attachments.
Matt, your paint work is exquisite!
I used to be into tanks big time and then they made it to the closet and now basement.
Must. Resist. Temptation.
Tanks are looking good. Never played TANKS but have a few Flames of War armies I used to play (DAK, 8th army, and early war French). Geared up my armies for the new set of rules but after a few games everyone went back to Bolt Action.
Fantastic tanks Matt.
I have scores of 15mm vehicles that I use with Battlefront WW2 but have not played Tanks. I probably can't just get the rules and cards? I won't get into it as I won't be buying any more tanks to get the cards. I have too many tanks that I'll never get to painting as it is!
Just back from the Muster. Thanks for the tips Ken. I try a drybrush to get some paint on the frames so they stand out some. The camera sure shows the mistakes I make. I know mine are not even close to yours and others but I try. They add planes I want to get, keep me occupied and happy doing something.
Ooooh, a train set!
Can I blow the whistle? Please?
Very nicely turned out choo-choo, John!

Not sure any of these will work for you, but they might: OldGuy59's WWII German Armored Train Album
Perhaps they could be adapted for WWI?
PS: Oops. Those aren't WWI tanks.

That train looks really cool, John! Who is the maker of it? Looks like it's in resin and rather small - 6mm - 1/300? Any idea if it is still available?
All the best,
Matt
Hi Matt,
Its 6mm white metal, I and Flying Helmut pretty much bought out all the guy's stock at Derby Worlds a couple of years ago, and I believe that was his last year of trading.
However, I think I've seen the trains listed with another manufacturer since then, I'll have a look later for you.
I'ts now later; Irregular Miniatures in the UK do trains for the American Civil War and for WWI, including a German "Big Bertha" rail gun, which is HUGE even in 6mm

Lest we forget
Thanks, John! I was actually hoping to find one for WWI - I shall go to Irregular Miniatures site presently
All the best,
Matt
Matt check out PICO https://www.picoarmor.com/. They have a number of items in 3mm.
I didn't get the train but did get some of their tracks to use as a target.
Kevin from what I have seen of your stuff I think you (and others here) can paint anything.
Here's one that's been sitting on my workbench for a while, an AIM Mitsubishi A6M2-N Rufe of 934th AG, flown by CPO Eitoku Matsunaga. He was reputedly the top floatplane ace of the Pacific war.
It was completed a couple of months ago, apart from the serial on the tail, which I couldn't find a matching colour/style for. Kevin of Miscminis kindly answered my plea and printed me off a set, plus a set of the lightning flashes.
All decals are from various Miscmini sets (meatballs from a Zero set, lightning flash from a Raiden set), with the stripes on the float from Xtradecal.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
That is awesome Steve. What else can I say.
Very nice, Steve. Guess I need to add this one to the next batch of UAC planes.

Top quality Steve.

Not that you need it, but for others that want to build and decal one, there is a card for this plane: OldGuy59's WWII Seaplanes Album - Rufe 2

An interesting point to note: When maintaining CF-18s in Europe in the '80s, the soot and pollution in the air was devastation on the leading edges and front ends on the planes. Planes seemed to weather and wear twice to three times faster than in Cold Lake, Alberta, where planes flew in very clean air.
So, depending on the unit, and how much effort they expended (or not) in the appearance of their planes, aircraft in Europe could be stripped of paint by just flying. Oh, and there was also acid rain (clouds in the air, not necessarily rain falling on parked planes) adding to the problem. Paint would be removed from metal, but plastic and composite materials were pitted and melted, too.

Hmmm....
There are multiple version of both the spelling and the markings of this particular pilot and plane. So, I've done up another version of the card to match the miscmini decals.

It was a good day at the beach, brought all the kids home . . . + 3 Mrs Clipper surprised me with a visit from her two sisters from the north this week, no model time, YIKES! Then I discovered a play at the Mesa Arts Theatre, "Sense and Sensibility" the play! Well worth the $ and 40 mile trip, leaving me home alone, (sad) with my elves and bunch of painting to do, so sad . . . : )
Hansa Brandenburg KDW's are like sports cars!
Then I discovered a fleet of Macchi M.5 flying boats flown by U.S.Navy pilots, Squadrigalia 263 Porto Corsini 1917-1918 cool!
And a trio of rare birds . . .
The Hansa Brandenburg W-18
Von Banfield's Oeffag H in blue . . .
And for the strut paining challenge, the Hansa Brandenburg CC
Hanriot HD hits the water too!
Some how these slipped into the fold, part of the elves' clear out the primed drawer . . . Hannover CL.III from before they were released officially. Chance to revisit the lozenge sticker fun!
Finished the last one just as the Mrs Clipper and the Sisters from the north arrived home . . .
All tucked away, clear table, full turn table : )
Now where did those OV-10 Broncos go?
One more in before the end of the month. Had to do some historical E-bay fodder to get my head straight. Hit E-bay today.
