Here are the Corsair's again.
The Pe-2's are nothing special. Just a green pint job.
Nice pieces, only suggestion I would make is to try and paint the metal frames on the cockpits. Yeah, I know...a bit difficult to see and fiddly but worth the effort. But then I use a 2x visor and a clamp light at my paint table. Also maybe a thinned down black wash before adding decals to bring out the detail.
In addition to the planes I'm working on this month, I've been trying to get half a dozen tanks finished so we can play TANKS...
Below you see the 5 that are still WIP. The StuH 42 is the furthest along, with the Shermans not quite so far, and the Hetzer just in its basecoat.
The Sturmgeschuetz III is probably my favorite AFV of WW2, and this one with the 105 is turning out nicely - I decided to try the 'ambush' pattern on it, and I'll do another 75 version with some damaged side-skirts in the same pattern - 394 Assault Gun Brigade for Normandy...
Waiting on decals from 1/144 Direct right now, and then I'll finish 'em up and get them onto the board - we are looking forward to playing.
In addition, Shapeways just delivered a couple of Junkers D.1s and a J.1...some metal birds for the WW1 battlefield...

Fantastic paintjob on those tanks and guns, Harry. I love the game of TANKS (we even enjoy a PL version) and also have some vehicles to build and paint. And yes, SG III is a fine, multirole workhorse of the war. A kind of "transformer" among the tanks.

Nice painting! I'm not a follower of Tanks, but local players have asked for some cards for Unofficial vehicles. And the Hetzer wasn't produced 6 months ago.

Tanks are looking good. Never played TANKS but have a few Flames of War armies I used to play (DAK, 8th army, and early war French). Geared up my armies for the new set of rules but after a few games everyone went back to Bolt Action.

I have scores of 15mm vehicles that I use with Battlefront WW2 but have not played Tanks. I probably can't just get the rules and cards? I won't get into it as I won't be buying any more tanks to get the cards. I have too many tanks that I'll never get to painting as it is!

Just back from the Muster. Thanks for the tips Ken. I try a drybrush to get some paint on the frames so they stand out some. The camera sure shows the mistakes I make. I know mine are not even close to yours and others but I try. They add planes I want to get, keep me occupied and happy doing something.

i nicknamed the game "treads of glory" because its a simplified armor game when compared to such as panzer/armor/88 as wings of glory to more complicated aerial combat games!!!

Its 6mm white metal, I and Flying Helmut pretty much bought out all the guy's stock at Derby Worlds a couple of years ago, and I believe that was his last year of trading.
However, I think I've seen the trains listed with another manufacturer since then, I'll have a look later for you.
I'ts now later; Irregular Miniatures in the UK do trains for the American Civil War and for WWI, including a German "Big Bertha" rail gun, which is HUGE even in 6mm

Visited Pico Armor's booth at Historicon last year and talked to John S. and John G. I think it was John S. who said something along the lines of... you don't really paint 3mm, you provide a theme or impression.
I didn't get the train but did get some of their tracks to use as a target.

Here's one that's been sitting on my workbench for a while, an AIM Mitsubishi A6M2-N Rufe of 934th AG, flown by CPO Eitoku Matsunaga. He was reputedly the top floatplane ace of the Pacific war.
It was completed a couple of months ago, apart from the serial on the tail, which I couldn't find a matching colour/style for. Kevin of Miscminis kindly answered my plea and printed me off a set, plus a set of the lightning flashes.
All decals are from various Miscmini sets (meatballs from a Zero set, lightning flash from a Raiden set), with the stripes on the float from Xtradecal.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!

An interesting point to note: When maintaining CF-18s in Europe in the '80s, the soot and pollution in the air was devastation on the leading edges and front ends on the planes. Planes seemed to weather and wear twice to three times faster than in Cold Lake, Alberta, where planes flew in very clean air.Here is the finished MIG-21 in east german markings. So, depending on the unit, and how much effort they expended (or not) in the appearance of their planes, aircraft in Europe could be stripped of paint by just flying. Oh, and there was also acid rain (clouds in the air, not necessarily rain falling on parked planes) adding to the problem. Paint would be removed from metal, but plastic and composite materials were pitted and melted, too.

There are multiple version of both the spelling and the markings of this particular pilot and plane. So, I've done up another version of the card to match the miscmini decals.

It was a good day at the beach, brought all the kids home . . . + 3 Mrs Clipper surprised me with a visit from her two sisters from the north this week, no model time, YIKES! Then I discovered a play at the Mesa Arts Theatre, "Sense and Sensibility" the play! Well worth the $ and 40 mile trip, leaving me home alone, (sad) with my elves and bunch of painting to do, so sad . . . : )

I haven't done any planes in quite awhile. For the last month or three I've spent most of my mini time doing Star Trek HeroClix kitbashes.
Here I've turned a Mantis and a Nurse Chapel into an Andorian crewmember.
