Thread: My 2nd Tripod game

    Default My 2nd Tripod game

In my second encounter I played a Martian, (with frequent pauses to examine the rules). The scenario here was to use the Caproni CA4 with its much higher damage tolerance to eliminate the Mk I Tripod.

Despite my rookie skills in controlling the Tripod I managed to chase it off the mat!

I very much doubt that the Caproni would have been so obliging if she had realized that I only had one or two damage points left before I would have been killed.

Another victory to the Martians. Properly handled I am sure that these machines will be very difficult to eliminate indeed.

    Question

So Gary what are your feeling about the Game?
I sort of feel it might get a bit boring & repetitive unless you could work up some different scenarios.

I have mixed feelings really. On one hand I think a release of new WWI planes would have been a lot better but it does give a different scenario for some variety. It will probably join Sails of Glory and WGS in the cupboard for a bi-annual game. For those thinking of ordering T&T, Blood Red Skies would be a better option as those planes can easily be used in WGS too.

I missed out on the Kickstarter but to be honest other than the chance to pick up some aircraft it just did not grab me.

It may have a bit more appeal as an alternate history campaign. Throw in some homebrew rules for ground forces - artillery, naval units. Perhaps have the opportunity to capture a Tripod and use it against the Martians?

I am pretty sure our KS was working up Tripod on Tripod rules as a Stretch goal. Need to check that later.
