Having just finished reading H G Wells's War of the Worlds I was very aware of how dangerous and difficult to kill Martians really are. Zoe Had managed to score a demo copy of the upcoming game of Tripods and Triplanes so I thought it would be a good opportunity to chance my arm against those mechanical monsters. Not exactly pin up girls are they!
Zoe was in command of a Tripod Mark I and the two humans were flying an N17 Triplane and a Sopwith Triplane.
My first impression was encouraging as the Martian fired and missed. She then managed to topple over! How easy is this going to be I asked myself as we took advantage to hit the helpless machine.
Life was not meant to be easy we discovered as the Martian recovered and hit us both with a burst of toxic smoke.
In our panic we collided.
The Triplane still managed to get off a shot against the metal monster.
But paid dearly for that shot.
The not quite so intrepid Frenchman meanwhile headed straight into a toxic smoke cloud!
Which sets him on fire.
Taking advantage of his pitiful state the Martian menace hits him again.
That Tripod just crushes the pesky French like a flea!!
With deadly cold precision the Alien turns her attention to the British plane and hits it hard.
No Giggles for Biggles. The Martian aka Zoe triumphs against mankind.
Can anything stop these monsters from taking over earth?
