Where did you get that fantastic mat?

The mat was printed by Vistaprint. Its an indoor banner, 8' x 4'. Several times a year they have 50% off, the only time to buy!

The image I think I got from Zoom Earth 'Here'.

    Terrific looking mat, Peter.

I wish Ares would hurry up and give us those aircraft!

    That's a fantastic looking mat!

Unfortunately I got this after making commitments for Cold Wars but this will make an appearance this spring at a con or two.

Just back and saw this. Great map Peter (as they all are). I know we will have a great game in March.

Can't wait to use this. Having the Check Your 6! Cactus Air Force scenario/campaign book I'd like to try running the campaign with this.

Was just revisiting this thread after lamenting the lack of a PTO playing surface. If I may ask, where did you get the excellent graphic used to create this mat? It appears free of modern construction, yet is in color? I would love to replicate this in some fashion (although 8 by 4 may be more than I can use!)

    Bob, see post #52 above.

Print was done by Vistaprint. Image I got off of Zoom Earth. Check 'HERE' for a view.

Many different sizes are available from Vistaprint. I have three 4' x 6' of different scenes and a nice 4' x 4' of Rabaul.

Here is a shot of Rabaul, B-24s on their bomb run harassed by Oscars.

Just came back to this thread. I was wondering how you captured a high-enough resolution image to be able to print a large mat? Any screen cap technology yields a too-grainy/pixellated version.

I tried printing the Midway Atoll and it came out barely usable due to poor resolution. I am interested in trying again and getting it right but do not know how.

We'll have to hear from Teaticket to find out the Secret

The files are 2.8 and 2.5 MBs. I don't know how much resolution will come out when printed. Not sure how much is lost posting here but if you go to Zoom Earth, search '28.2072° N, 177.3735° W' for Midway and save the image from what altitude you like.

Those look much better than what I tried to use. I will give this another shot. Thank you for the examples Peter.
