Stuka Missing Canopy
I found a great deal for two Wings of War Stuka's on ebay (especially wanted the StG.3):
What is wrong with this picture?
Looking for suggestions on how to create a replacement canopy. Also included is one of the newer Ares Stuka's in the photo because I am wondering if the canopy from the two versions are interchangeable. If there is no way to fix the old bird I would rather cannibalize the newer one. I also have friends with 3D printers if I can find a file to print from. Thoughts or ideas?
A friend made some transparent canopies using a home moulding kit they got from a craft shop. Use the existing Stuka canopy as a master, press the mould material around it, let it set then use clear resin. IIRC the mould material was eat activated so once you'd used it for one item you could drop it in a bowl of hot water and it became flexible again, so you could reuse it as many times as you wished. I can't remember the details of it though. I'll see if I can find out.
Oh, right! Greenstuff makes the molding material you mentioned. I actually have some of that. Are you saying he poured clear liquid resin into the mold? I could try that!
Are there any hints or things I need to know to safely remove a canopy?
