Default 1 200 Kriegsmarine U Boat Type IIC Submarine

I'm still taking in morning coffee so I missed the U Boat VIIc and instead started the post with IIc.

Oh, and before getting started on this one, I wanted to give credit to the creator of this image; David Taylor.

I'm thinking this U boat image re-dressing will take about a month and a half judging from the IJN Kiadia-type submarine I had just completed; but, I have so many allied aircraft and shipping vs. wolfpac scenarios bouncing around in my head I have to get this one done.

I can't help but appreciate how Germany capitalized on the existing success of their submarine force like that.

Oh, and thank you for the pic flash, you solved a question I was having regarding the submarine net cutting assembly on the VIIC.

The net cutter looks like it was a stock assembly on the VIIC.

I was wrestling because I was seeing it on some models but not all

    Thank you again Flash...

Didn't need to, they were doing alright as they were. Remember Germany was short of everything including steel!

    Last Update into the week,

The small size offers less pixel variation but I think I am rolling with it:

An advantage to this one being smaller is that it is progressing a little faster.

I am hurrying a bit because I want to knock out an American Gato Class Submarine (for Pacific pilot rescue missions), and finish with the final piece to the destroy group, IJN Light Cruiser Noshiro (Aircraft launch capability from her deck).

I had to add some detail to the conning tower, and put some deck behind the AA basket.

Question, does any one know what those brackets at the very end of the finished section are?
Gery had to have been mounting something back there...

I finally reached that stage where I put it up on the main computer screen/TV as a desk top background and just allow my eyes to peruse the image for a couple of days.

It's funny the things you miss otherwise...

I had to update the AA basket (wrong shading) and re-work the back of Das Boot...

Also I couldn't get the rigging to work (due to it being a smaller ship) so I 86ed it...

I want to throw another weekend looking at it for other errors and hope to have it scaled and prepped for printing next year... Jan 07 2018 that is...

I can finally get my Bristol Beaufighters out on anti submarine missions...

They will fly in from the corner of the map taking anti aircraft fire from the sub, and either fill her full of rockets or watch her dive safely prior to taking any real damage...

    Woo Hoo...

    update:

My girlfriend was asking what that red blotch was on the deck... I said... Guess... She said a puddle of blood..? I said it's supposed to be a flag... She says... Um... Ah... Ok... I see it now... I say... Um... I think the flag needs a shadow...
