Default Warriors - Old and New

Just run these through the painting bench

Firstly a Sopwith Cuckoo, a veteran from Doncaster 2017 no less, that I won in a raffle for that event & collected at Warfare last weekend. Here it is in action at the rear of the pack with the green identifier:

And here it is now following the after action service:

It is so good to see nice work. I only wish I could paint. Naw not really, I don't have either the time or patience. That's why I buy pre-painted miniatures; though I'd love to have some of my other stuff painted.

Latest approach is to cover the top with a one-piece decal. Not 100% happy with it, but it will serve until I come up with a better.

How do you get those decals? Make them yourself or order them from somewhere? I think they look great!

Lots of neat stuff since the 'fall' earlier in the month...I can't wait to see the 'My Little Pony' army come to life

I just finished base-coating Cthulhu - time now for washes and dry-brushing and detail painting. He's intended to take part in an scenario I would like to run at Origins this next year. We've already started play-testing some rules...

    Sort of, but not really...

When pilots fire at Cthulhu, they incur a possibility that they 'look into his eyes' - this causes the drawing of a 'madness' card that determines their next 3 maneuver cards. They will disregard whatever cards they had plotted and use instead the three cards mandated by the 'madness' card. Some of the cards are terrified cards, where the pilot simply wants to get away. Others are crazed cards, that cause the pilot to fire on each of those three mandated maneuver phases at the closest plane, regardless of whether it's friendly or not.

After the three mandated cards, the pilot 'shakes it off' and can return to the fray.

Once I've finalized some things and worked out the bugs, I'll post a file that folks can access if they're interested.

    All the best,
    Matt

My guy dumped almost 40 of them on me including a group of 5 zombie ponies with it. I suspect it is a variant of a D and D adventure using Pony figs...His wife is very much into it so it might also be her project. Will post more as I get em done (5 zeds almost finished tonight) Do almost exclusively historicals anymore so do not mind something different every now and then. I will admit my wife's fondness for Zombicide games so have painted a snot load of those also both for a customer and myself.

Not my Theater, Bob, but those Lillies look lovely - great job on the green and silver camo!

Andy, I've always like Genestealers, and that new scout vs. aliens game looks very nifty - I may have to investigate it for myself...

Max, your posting made me discover this tank's ranking in the E-series of German hypotheticals - I had not known of this little fellow before now. Are you playing with them in a game or is it a display model?

Steve, your biremes and triremes look lovely - are you playing with a specific set of rules or creating one of your own?

    Good stuff all around, folks!!

I have put the elves on the final G.III and they should get it done this week. New authentic colors can be found in the new book by Jack Herris "German G-Type Bombers of WWI" I very much like this mini from Shapeways, it has all the struts in place unlike the Ares Gotha; it is also sturdy on the game table. Anyone looking for an alternate to the Gotha or something to complement it on a bombing raid can't go wrong. . . .
