Ordered my 305 squadron decals. Also just heard from Dave he is still working on the molds and hopes to have the models done in the next few weeks. When he lets me know how things are going I will let you all know.
Definitely will put in an order when Dave gives the green light. We'll have the full 305th squadron between us. Looks like some future scenarios coming on....
He said it was hectic at Christmas so I can see things being slow. I just placed an order with him so should have some new planes next week. 2 more Nate's for a total of 8.
Did he let you order Mosquitos?
2 more Nates, damn, now you have more than me!
No Mosquito's yet but soon. Dave said should have production models by the middle of Jan. I had 4 Nate's but saw that the 3rd of the 77th was in Thailand so had to get the decals and do 4 of them.
Nice! That looks pretty good.
[Edit]Both look pretty good, actually. What are your thoughts, Bob? How do they look in person?[/Edit]
I just looked back on some of the comments and David you were correct about the 2 models.
Fantastic!
We all need a few Mosquitoes.
Even those of us who already have a couple.

Chris they look good like all his other work and fill a gap many of us want. I did an inventory of the AIM planes I own and it came out to 95. I had 3 KATES for a few years before I painted them. I was worried how they would look compared to the great work I see here and for me they look good. After that I started getting more of his planes. I will have a few of these next week. Now I have to get the other OSPREY books.
I was worried about my painting skill compared to others here but finally went ahead and painted them. Now I have built up a number of planes for different areas. Peter is running a game between the Russians and Japanese in China so we have NATES/I-16'S/SB'S AND maybe a few LILLYS. One game we played at FALL IN had no official AREA planes.
One day I'll take the plunge. I've seen Peter's work on his ever-growing WWII collection (air armada?)... very impressive. And I like that other theaters are starting to get some play. I just have to convince myself that I want to dive into WGS as deeply as I have WGF.
Determination... weakening...
I held off for all of 6 months ....
I now have more WGS than WGF!
But most have yet to make it to the table.
I tried to hold off of WW2 and lasted a couple years. Then once I dipped my toe in I was sadly behind and couldn't get the first releases. Happy with the BoB release so I now have a nice set of what I missed first go.
Numbers, I am still afraid to count. If my wife learns the total... I find I need/want more of each WW2 plane compared to WWI. With the deadlier fire from one pass I think at least 2 planes per pilot are needed in the games I run. I do respawns but with more than one plane at least you are still in the action when one goes down.
Back on thread, multiple Mossies will be ordered as soon as Dave gives the OK.
I will let you know when he takes orders.
And your wife plays the game with you
I was visiting the friend in BC who first got me interested in WoW over Christmas.
He asked me how many planes I had now (in front of SWMBO) and I carelessly told him the truth. (over 400)
“How many ????!”
I quickly back-pedalled ... they are really small
On the way upstairs I told him Don’t let on what they cost!!
Just took deilvery of two B17s (one for him) and another Me110 from Herr Oberst ....

Does anybody have Mossie cards with stats?

I just asked for an order, 3 FB for the 305th, so will let you know when I get his reply.
At 1:200 scale you can tell your wife they barely exist.
It is too bad the Mosquito was not around for BoB as I would prefer that model over any of the bombers we will actually see. I want to run Operation Jericho! At least my resources will be freed up to chase down three more Flying Tiger P-40s I need to make a six plane squadron while I wait, and hope for something more to my taste in 2019.
My wife may play the game but she does not know how many planes I have. Actually, neither do I! I keep telling myself to do an inventory but am afraid she will walk in and see the fleets all lined up for inspection.
I have my defense planned. I'll just tell her its better than if I spent the $$ at the local bar. We'll see how that flies.
I have done exactly that, and it works remarkably well. the old hobbies keep me close to home ploy!
My Ace in the hole, should I ever need it, would be to pull out her $300 Fluevog shoes next to a slightly lower value pile of board games and say, "Look, these games are cheaper than those kicks." Somehow I think that tactic may lead to a fight...
I have not yet done the Mosquitoes yet; they are high speed, lots of variants, and conflicting data. And worst, probably not anything good to compare them to too.
The only good reason for the Ms.410 release was to see it's deck.
Tell you what: I have 2 days off as of a couple hours ago. It's cold as all get out outside, and I'm........no scratch that, I'm looking for a distraction.
I'll see if I can get something on them by Monday.

I received an email from Dave today and he seems worried that there is not much interest in the Mosquito model. If you could let him know that there is interest please do. I want to start with the FB version since I have the decals for the 305th, thanks to Kevin (MISCMINI).
Really? Well, I want 6 of them so i’ll be dropping Dave a line shortly. Aim_schmidt@yahoo.com if anyone else wants to let Dave know they want some.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
4 for me.

I just emailed Dave at AIM encouraging him to keep on with the Mosquitos. I'll order 3 each when ready.
Dave's AIM address is aim_schmid@yahoo.com.
???AIM site does not show any 1/200 Mossies. Why is it so?

Andy he hasn't post any photos yet. His son has to update the site. Thanks for the response all. I asked for 3 FB's to start with and will work my way up from there. While looking at info about Mosquitos I saw that the Israeli's used them. Early Arab/Israeli wars would have a great mixture of planes just like Andy's Polish/Russian battles of the 20's.
I think I will definitely get some Mossies but not yet as I have too much other stuff waiting to go on the workbench at the moment and i'm getting slower and slower in my old age. Was 75 yesterday so everybody is invited to a celebration in the Mess. Drinks are on me (until I fall over)!
Well Happy 75th Reg. Someone who has been through times we will not know.
